Sleeping in Dover docks

Which dock is overnight staying permitted ?
Getting Ferry next day.

None, officially not allowed in more than 2 hours before sailing.
You can park along the Esplanade I think they charge now. Best place is Canterbury Park & ride 20 min to the docks.

You need to check tide times very carefully if sleeping in the docks.

yes Lenny and ginscott. Stayed there MANY times but wanted to avoid the journey from there to the docks at rush hour

If you look on S4S or P4N there are a few wild spots close by.

or the Roadchef services at (Previously Stop 24) on the m20. https://www.roadchef.com/motorway-services/folkestone. It used to be £12 motorhome parking for over 3 hours but I note they have pushed that up to £20.

I always get the late boat and sleep on the other side in Dunkirk. If you are in Dover anyway, just get the boat.

Be careful parking up anywhere close to Dover.

You might find the odd refugee trying to get back to France after realising this country’s not what it’s cracked up to be.

I’ve done this many times too, but even in the morning rush hour I’ve never encountered a rush. Minor queues at the roundabout with the garage on it, but that’s it. 20-25 minutes tops.

If you use it, please lift the grid when emptying any black waste... there are rope handles provided. Some filthy b didn't on Monday.

I say b rather than use the word I would have used as that one might breech the rules.
