Hi guys,

Ive decided to do a slatted roof on my van..

Ive done a bit of research and know how i'm going to do it, however one question i have is do i start in the middle or at the sides and morn my way in?

My van has an irregular shaped roof due to the cupboards being already installed.

Basically the White bit is roof and Grey is cupboards etc.

As you can see its not an easy rectangle to deal with. My thought was to Start roughly in the middle with full runs front to back and then work my way out and as i get to the outer edges i may have to cut the slats to fit hoping i dont end up with any too thin, although i can adjust my spacing if this looks the case. However not every side will come up the same.

I do have some carpet that i could use and will be easier, but the wife wants slats, and its easier to do as we're told isnt it. :)

Thoughts guys?

Thanks

I've no idea it's not mine, the OP is Speedytriple not me.
I wasn't exactly asking you but you said weigh it before you do anything else and I just asked what it's got now, does it need anything else.

The current roof is lined with 6mm (I think) ply. So i will just paint that and add the slats.

Because the OP said that it is already over weight.
