Presume that you mean Sky Glass?

Are you asking specifically about the standalone Sky Glass Puck?

No. This: https://www.sky.com/tv/stream
It does look similar to the Sky Glass multi room box tho

I’ve been waiting for this to come out; I hadn’t realised that they’d given it a different name. When I had questions about it a few months ago, none of Sky’s call handlers could give me any meaningful information.

The key question I had was would it allow me to watch my channels on overseas wifi but they couldn’t say.

I expect content will be geotagged & VPN fooling could be needed. But I’ve no specific knowledge on Sky Stream.

It’s not going to be supported by sky.
“Sky T&C said:
If you or any other person uses any of the TV services on Sky Glass or Sky
Stream puck anywhere other than your home address you will be in breach of this contract and we may charge you an Additional Location Charge or suspend certain subscription services for use at that other address
That’s from the Sky Glass & Stream t&c. Source

Just looks like a rebrand of now TV to me

And, oddly, NOW has recently been rebranded. ‘TV’ dropped & now capitalised. 🤔

I also did think Stream’s difference was subtle in the literature.
It needs specific hardware but NOW doesnt is one difference I believe.

I went in the sky shop the other day and they have got a new gadget called a puck
It’s for sky stream £22 per month all you need is router and HDMI socket on your tv.
Apparently it’s been out since last October.

Especially true for Motorhome travelling.
For home use the Stream Puck has better HD resolution 🤷‍♂️

Pricing summary from the trustedreviews.com link above (post 8 ;) ):

Pricing

Both Sky Stream and Now can operate on monthly rolling contracts which can be cancelled at any time.

Sky Stream is priced at £29/month after a one-month free trial or starting at £24/month on an 18-month contract with Sky TV and Netflix Basic included as standard, though other add-on packs and services are also available such as UHD/Dolby Atmos and Sky Sports.

Now’s cost will also depend on which package you opt for. Now Entertainment and Cinema cost £9.99/month separately, while the Entertainment and Cinema bundles are priced at £12/month if you decide to buy both together on a six-month contract. Now Sports costs £33.99/month while reality TV channel Hayu will set you back £4.99/month.

There’s also Now Boost which gives you Full HD, Surround Sound and ad-free streaming on up to three devices at once. {Full HD built in to Stream Puck}
Edit: The trustedreview.com pricing is out of date, but the general info is useful. Live & current pricing at Sky.com :P

Naaaaa another attempt by my ex employer to cash in on streaming and an attempt to keep up with other companies like Netflix.

Sound bars they dropped.
Glass is another area they’ll drop.
Sky stream is another firestick avenue if you ask me.

Me, Sky now they’ve been bought out by Comcast are trying to keep up with the big boys and so far failing.

To expensive if you ask me and I had it free for 13 years and the same package (the full bundle) with hassle and arguing is still costing me £90 a month.

How do you get now tv on a firestick?
The NOW app is available via the Fire TV Stick appstore ui
Doesn’t need side loading.

My NOW setup info is old. I did it about 8yr ago for MIL when I got her the old NowTV stick.
But it’s account driven. You’ll need a Sky NOW account online.
There you manage the subscriptions.

Hmm! Is the passcode just to link the Fire TV Stick to the NOW user account?
That’ll typically be provided by being online when logged into NOW there and getting a passcode there to put into the Fire TV Stick prompt.

Sorry, that’s very general info.
🤞someone with current info will be along soon…

Best route via firestick is via other means hush, hush.

If interested PM me and I’ll explain but not on an open forum I respect MHF to much.

What do you think HBO Max launching in the UK in 2025 (merged with Discovery+ ?) will do to Sky? Presumably it will devalue their Entertainment package? Plus Discovery+ with BT Sport & Eurosport will be a competitive player for major Sport rights?

Sky will months in advance have plans on the table as they watch market changes. They will have something up their sleeve that’s for sure specially with Comcast running the pounds and dollars.

Sky are pushing steaming big time but is it to late to compete with companies that already have a foot hold in this market and Sky in the U.K. and expensive.

Me, I would drop the prices be more competitive in todays market, we’ll be the leader and in turn it will grow their customer base even bigger.

But Sky being Sky dropping prices is like pulling teeth.

It’s all about the football, nothing else really matters to sky. They currently pay £4.2 billion over 3years for the rights to the Premier League.

Yes money talks but other companies will out bid Sky but not every company has the pockets as big as Sky.

They had me interested but as far as I can see the puck is 240v only and you can only use the service at your registered address.

I'll stick with IPTV for now.
