Thanks for all the comments . Very interesting. I haven’t cancelled yet but may do after I’ve had a good look at the reviews ( something I should have done before ordering ).
Just to confirm this is for the house not the motorhome . The smallest Tv sky do is 44 “
You cannot take it to France etc,you can with Skybox.
And lots of DataBut you would be able to take the puck version.

We have one. We want our sky q backA total waste of money.
Skys answer to IPTV
And lots of Data
Agreed, but l still use Sattelite abroad as first choice and Firestick etc last to minimise data usage.Yes, but no different to the IPTV referred to as an alternative elsewhere in this thread nor to the various TV apps/firestick that folks use.
The only way to avoid consuming data is to use a satellite dish - and folks think they’ve had their day; perhaps not.

Good decision kannon fodder, we regret sky glass loved our qSky glass is to me a gimmick. I don't understand why I want what is possibly an inferior TV just to have what is effectively a Smart TV that uses Sky's embedded programme guide compared to say a smart TV from LG that has the apps for Netflix, Amazon and all the others. I don't get what is so superior of glass over the wide choice of Samsung, LG, Sony and all sorts of others. So perhaps you have some energy savings of the Sky Q or other PVR box not running. All Sky glass is doing is being an integrated streaming thing. What I want is a PVR so I can record and download in advance and then zap through those adverts. I'll stick with Sky Q, and the basic signature TV with the Netflix HD add on.
This. It’s just expensive IPTV but Sky know it’ll cost them much less to operate in the future.Like you said, habits. I had a Sky box for many years that was used quite a lot. I dropped for a BT YouView box to reduce costs a few years ago. Then went entirely Freeview because we just weren't recording anything. We've got an aerial on the house, but since I tidied up the TV shelves, I accidentally left it disconnected and didn't notice for months.
Everything we watch now is streamed YouTube, iPlayer, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. Sky know this. It's cheaper and lower risk for them to steam stuff on demand than launch satellites and support expensive set top boxes that takes them more than a year to recoup their costs. Broadcast TV is dying.
Tv is purchased separately so you would own it but if you stopped the sky Glass subscription I imagine the Tv features would be fairly limited .I assume if you go for a Sky Glass set up it is like the Sky Q set up if you stop paying they can ask you to return the equipment as you never own it. So no TV.
The only thing thats good about the system is the actual tv, its a nice bit of kit.I assume if you go for a Sky Glass set up it is like the Sky Q set up if you stop paying they can ask you to return the equipment as you never own it. So no TV.
But very cheap for them to operate moving forwards. They need to do it because this market rarely sleeps. The only thing thats good about the system is the actual tv, its a nice bit of kit.
The system itself is clunky and a backward step, nuts
My son in law was excited by the launch of the Sky glass tv, he ordered one but his excitement soon turned to disappointment.
He returned it after a couple of weeks.
The sound quality came nowhere near his surround sound system, and it would appear that sky launched it before all the bugs had been ironed out, using feedback from customers to do their research & development.
You must have a finite period left with that system.Agreed, but l still use Sattelite abroad as first choice and Firestick etc last to minimise data usage.
Its a matter of still using what's available as l have stated l use the Firestick and other via my iPad or Mac.When you are away for months Data can be extremely costly. You must have a finite period left with that system.
Sky will soon not need to maintain any satellite uplink stations - like the one at Chilworth.
Or hire space on satellites like Astra.
When other broadcasters see how Sky get on then also make the move away from that transmission method, what is there left to receive on a satellite STB?
