you are right to go to work.
I understand what you are saying but I personally can’t morally justify anyone having work done on what are basically non essential toys and definitely can’t see the customer being able to justify their trip to have work done on a MotorhomeIf you can safely work and maintain social distancing while doing so; while not breaking or encouraging others to break the rules of lockdown, and you cant work from home, you are right to go to work.

An emergency gas leak on a full timers van would be a completely different situation ?

I don’t have the mindset that has ever put earning money as something important in life , just as going to school was certainly something that I realised at the age of 4 wasn’t really for me ?The 'moral justification' is in providing an income for the mobile mechanic!
John

I was actually talking about the leisure vehicle trade certainly not essentialOf course, people cannot travel to have work done.
The advice to the self-employed though is clear as mud. On the face of it, if they can't work from home. they can go to work. But they must abide by the social distancing rules. So can a window cleaner work? Maybe What about a carpet cleaner!? That is obviously a no, A solar panel fitter or a delivery driver? Farmers around me are working 18 hours a day, they are not feeding the nation, nothing essential, just growing rape for a healthy profit.
If someone can work without endangering themselves or others, then they should go to work. We need their taxes.

work like farming etc ⚠??
As long as an individual can keep both themselves and others safe it’s not an issue to work. Which is why many companies are home working. There are however many jobs where this cannot be done safely so unless process can be put in place then no, for those workers then they need to stay at home.I understand what you are saying but I personally can’t morally justify anyone having work done on what are basically non essential toys and definitely can’t see the customer being able to justify their trip to have work done on a Motorhome ⚠

My window cleaner asked permission to clean my windows I’m indoors he is outside, he brings his own water uses a lance with a brush etc. Once the finished I went outside and disinfected any touch points such as the rear gate.Don’t suppose you have any links to these on line discussions?
If it means campsites stay in business then so what. We all need to pay our bills and go shopping. If prices are raised local and business tax along with employees are paid then happy days.'When' this is all over and we're allowed out, what's the bet that sites will be charging higher rates
Why double spacing?
At the peak we are asked to stay two meters apart, our pitches are ten metres apart.
Don't know why my post is doubled up and paragraphs missing??? I blame my new smartphone. This sort of post always makes me chuckle, I will admit I am the first to look at a pic from Europe looking over a gorgeous lake and I used to truck all over Europe and it was great but,,,,
I have friends who spend more on a ferry to Spain than I do on uk sites each year BUT don't say it's cheap
Once you are there the cost of living is cheaper but the cost of getting there is more than some people spend on sites in a year
Europe is great and I have stalked........I mean followed lenny HB's euro exploits since I joined this forum
I always find these sort of posts funny, when I first joined fun I found the European trip posts informative, I'm an ex euro long haul trucker, but the whole 'euro is cheaper' preaching just makes me chuckle
Now let me state that I love the stories/pics that lenny HB puts on here .......there are others but not as eloquent as lenny, but to always to be told europe is cheaper is nonsense
To get to europe by ferry/train whatever is the equivalent of some peoples whole years camping cost
I have friends who go to spain every year in their van and it's a £1000 on the boat, a lot of people don't spend that in a year away so how is that cheaper
Lenny.....
Eddie
Yours may be 10m apart, but on other sites they are a lot closer.
My guess is a simple 'catch all' edict will go out.
However many pitches you had before, now you have half.
(With a minimum of X meters between each one, including ensuring no back to back pitches)
That is presuming that camp sites will be allowed to open at commercial levels this summer at all!
I suspect the big 'resort' sites with the pool and the games area and the restaurant etc will not be opening at all this summer, too many people in one place.
Remember the person making the policy in Whitehall is probably someone who has either never camped in his life, or the last time was with the Scouts, but he knows all about campsites as there is one near his holiday home in Dorset and he has walked his dog past it on many occasions.
Correct to a degree, the government will be and is taking advice from bodies such as the BH&HPA, they are doing a great job in keeping us (park owners) informed and also provided information to be passed onto our local MP. There is an awful lot going on in the backgroundEddie

The Aires are free, no charge, I never stay on site that cost more than12 euros, if you can find any sites costing less in the UK I'm sure lots would like to know. As for the cost of getting there an back, it is less than five days on a UK site. This sort of post always makes me chuckle, I will admit I am the first to look at a pic from Europe looking over a gorgeous lake and I used to truck all over Europe and it was great but,,,,
