Site full……

We have a few days left of our annual leave. Having been down to Sandringham, New Forest and then to North Wales before heading home yesterday, when we arrived home we decided to head back out in the van an hour later. Headed up to our now usual wild camp spot up at Dalwhinnie for the night. We had hoped to go to Skye today/ tomorrow but tried online/ phoning numerous sites whilst parked up in Fort William but all fully booked. Decided to head over east and have managed to get a couple of nights near Findhorn.
The roads around Fort William and to Fort Augustus extremely busy but quieter after that point. OH decided to stop at the Loch Ness Visitor Centre, for what I thought was for a pit stop and stretch his legs. Next thing he is paying for tickets for us to go in the Exhibition Centre 😩. Needs updating me thinks

OK I'm taking a wild guess here and saying the Visitor Centre and not OH?:whistle2:;):giggle:

If it is the latter anybody know where the end of the queue is now?:whistle2::whistle2::whistle2:

Spent 4 nights around north Norfolk this week, all sites full, had to spend one 'wild' as all the C&MC sites were full in the area.
I emailed 5 local sites to be told they were all full, most not taking bookings until the end of September.

Outside of lockdown periods, most of them have been full all season.

From what I re call irrespective of staycations this time of year is usually very busy - silver season with grandparents now free of their holiday duties just before the cold weather and long nights set in. We haven’t found an issue with sites this year but not tried the last 6 weeks.

The Nessie Centre again memories , it has not changed in donkeys years but that's what makes it quaint, walzing waters was another of the same era another quaint Scottish visitor attraction now closed with the sister on the isle of white closing as well. They were serious technology when they were first open

We got back from France last week and the aires were pretty busy despite only seeing two Brit motorhomes in two weeks. I think the staycation is happening everywhere.
We are on our third aire tonight,,semi busy .
Actually spotted my first Brit today..BUSBY.

We've just arrived home after eleven nights away.

Three at Lyndon Top, loads (and loads) of space.

Five nights on a C&CC THS at Ruswarp, a few miles from Whitby, again, plenty of space, didn't need to book up either, (bus stop outside too).

Three nights on a C&CC THS at Carsington Water, no booking required, plenty of room.

We left Embo this morning and decided as we were so close we would head to John O GROATS. I expected busy roads and difficulty parking. Roads were quiet and pulled straight into a parts pace in John O Groats. Headed west and very little traffic, and no problem finding a site. Maybe they have all headed home.

Finally on Dees retirement trip to the Outer Hebrides, Scone Palace CCC 3/4 full, nice site and very peaceful, arrived today at Ullapool Brookfield Rd site, and warned to arrive by 12 noon if we wanted EHU, arrived at 12.32pm and only 2 Hookups left. By 6pm full to the gunnels. I hope this lot are not planning to get the ferry to the islands 🙀

Site we're working on was full throughout the summer and full pretty much every weekend but Sunday night through to Friday morning plenty of pitches empty.
Think we've been full every weekend since April opening. Tents been a little quieter than last year.

Still getting so many arrivals saying it's their first time out in van/caravan or at most only had van for short time.

Must head out to check everyone is behaving themselves and leaving my loos nice and clean........not....

I stayed at the Salisbury site in July, yes it was busy but I did manage to book for a weekend about 3 days prior. I was being flexible to where to go, could of also gone to Winchester the same weekend.
It's only the second time I've been to the site, as its a fair way from home but I would agree with Janine and say its a good city site.
However, whilst I could get into the site, I couldn't get into the local wetherspoon, due to it being too full.

Dodged a bullet with Wetherspoons.
