Sikaflex Question

Nothing wrong with the large plastic brackets. The give a large surface area to glue to.
They do and you're right. You do have to be very careful to clean off all traces of mould release agent though. They are expensive for what they are / do.

Did I mention over-thinking it??

Assume you're referring to my post ? Surely, it's better to over-think rather than under-think when the consequences could potentially be catastrophic. Thought it might be helpful as a "yard-stick" for those contemplating how much adhesive to use, especially for first time users.

I sometimes wonder why I bother posting when my posts get ridiculed :(

I think actually that he was referring to my post (#27) with the link to Guidance. :giggle:
It was said tongue-in-cheek anyway hence the smiley. We're all guilty of it and sticking things on the roof brings out the worst. I think a poll of Funsters who have solar panels might find none who have had one detach. They're stuck on in 4 or 6 places so even the paranoid have an opportunity to spot detachment before the panel departs. I take a lot of care with cleaning and surface preparation then use whichever PU adhesive is available most cheaply at the time. I've not had one come off.................... yet :Eeek: ;).
