Rally Shrewsbury VINTAGE show 23rd-28th June 2022

Today (Saturday) if supposed to be a half decent day so there could be a bit of water sport if anybody fancies it, I have a canoe if anybody wants a go in that and I know some people have their own paddle boards kayaks etc.

This evening gather around 7:30 in or outside the room weather depending, a bit of music and chat and possibly even a quiz unless you were all quizzed out last night;)

Sunday is going to be a busy day for some on the rally field :giggle:

There will be a car boot sale at on the other side of the main building, starts early o'clock if you want the best bits.

Bacon Buns 10 o'clock at the room, bring a drink and your money, the boiler will be on for a top up. We have a few volunteer helpers so we will be setting up around 8:30-8:45 and gas on 9:30 ish.

Then some of us have the boat trip at 3pm, we have to be at the Boat Jetty near Wetherspoon by 2:45 and the walk there is between 30 and 45 minutes depending how fast you walk, if anybody wants to leave as a group I suggest leaving at 2pm from the rally field.

EDIT just meant to say that if anybody is planning on getting a taxi to the boat jetty the town could be busy because of the food and drink show so allow a bit more time.

If anybody is doing anything walk/drink etc and fancies some company just post on here or on the blackboard at the room, Robin has the chalk.

Thanks for the quiz last night, as we we're only 3 in the team ginsters percentage wise I think we were the winners

Just piped into the Royal Oak they do scotch eggs (y)

Back home now. Car collected from servicing, washing machine going like a good un, and I'll be doing the BBQ shortly, which we should have had yesterday. ;)

Many thanks to funflair Martin & Jen, meanders Robin & Hilary, and Lee Fryer for all their hard work over the weekend, which helped to make an enjoyable Meet. (y)

It's a shame the weather wasn't conducive to messing about on the river, but there you go, ie, typical sh1te unpredictable British weather. :(

Cheers for now,

Jock & Rita. :)

Just arrived home and want to thank funflair for a great weekend and thanks for checking on me hobbling this morning .( I’m fine apart from needing new hip) . Thanks to meanders for great music and quizzes . Lovely to meet Scout again and thanks to new friends for making us welcome . Sue and john

It's only people coming and enjoying themselves that makes it worth doing :giggle: so thank you one and all, great mix of funsters, "thank you for the music" meanders Robin and Hilary, Lee Lee Fryer for your parking up expertise, thanks Gary and Ros GaryBDawson for the Shrewsbury "shutts walk", thanks Eddie grumps147 for the bacon frying and everybody else who offered help but were not called up, much appreciated all the same.

We did make a little bit of money so I will post the final breakdown in due course and will nominate a charity as recipient.

Martin and Jen

Another great Fun rally.
Thanks to all that made it happen, your all listed above. (y)

Met up with some old friends and new one's to make an enjoyable time.
The Royal oak had its biggest Funster turnout with 15... No wonder they ran out of "Pig on the wall".

Sorry we missed saying goodbye this morning.. Had one of those calls at 6.30am. "Dad, what time you home. We're ill and need someone to look after the kids ":doh:

Just had a little tally up and cutting a long story short we are £48 in profit partly from the generosity of several funsters who didn't take their change when paying for boat trip and room, we got a free place on the boat for the "coach driver" so we put that in the pot, I am thinking this will go to MS research but will post when this happens.

So this is the long story, we had use of the room at the showground and I took £1 per van, 37 vans was £37 but they were not keen on cash so we pocketed it and put it on our credit card.

Other expenses were associated with bacon buns which covered their costs but didn't make a fortune, we shopped at Morrisons but as we didn't use much of the butter, sauce etc we crossed that off, there was bacon left over that we sold on so all in we were quite efficient (y)

If anybody wants to inspect the accounts in detail they are most welcome but you may well find we are due a refund:LOL:
