Most smart phones & tablets have a shortcut to take a snap of the current screen.
On apple it’s press power button then while maintaining pressure there, quickly tap the home button.
If successful there’ll be a shutter noise.

On Android it's usually volume down and power buttons at the same time, it clicks then asks you if you want to save it , if you click yes it will be in your photos and you can upload it like any other photo.

There maybe smart phones out there but the smart people to operate them are few and far between:LOL:

Of course Dubai is just off the map.

It is a little scary how Google got/kept this stuff.
I assume my sporadic appearances in their sphere of influence is when I've used their app to get info on a restaurant or address. Maybe with directions.
My preference for tracking my travels is with a handheld GPSr so Google are just an odd bonus
I have pics from this Moroccan wandering but no gpx file

For those having problems finding timeline, just put "Timeline" into Google and it will appear (usually as the first link)

My timeline formed part of the evidence when I was accused of driving my car in a certain town that I have never been to and for a crime I didn't commit. Not a legal defence, but coupled with statements from two businesses and friends, it backed up what I told the police. It would probably been ok anyway as I did have proof of my whereabouts, but who knows? (Cloned car)

Since then I have kept it on all the time, rather than just when I am using Google Maps. I also like going back to see where I have been and the photos associated. So here is mine.

Call me paranoid if you want, but i find it all a bit creepy....Don't understand why anyone want their precise location made available to the world and his dog at any time - other than an emergency.

It's not! Only available for you when signed into your Google account. And if you read my post immediately above yours, it helped in a case of a cloned vehicle. I can also view pictures taken where I have been. If you carry any type of phone with you, you are already tracked. If you have a debit/credit card, you are already tracked. If you go anywhere there is CCTV, you are already tracked, especially where face recognition is used. Everything you do these days it tracked, so worrying about a map that only you have access to and is historic, is like putting a plaster on a broken leg.
