Hello all,
Just joined and this is my MH garage with the electric scooter in!!
Tell us about life with an electric scooter.

Me too! Complete mess and rammed to the rafters and it’s a relatively large garage. Although it is packed ready for a 1 week stay over Easter, so have an air awning, dog proof fencing, dog blankets, 2 chairs, bbq etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc………Thankfully the van is up-plated to 4850kg!
I thought ours was good at 4500kg, and the amount of stuff we bring with also 2 eBikes on a tow bar rack causes scraping getting on ferries! Thinking about getting air bags at the bag to lift it a bit.

Yep, we have full VB air when up-plated. 😎

We have seen this system from a company in Germany, would like to know if there is a similar type of thing available View attachment 602169View attachment 602170in the uk
I think the German system and also the Fiamma system are made from a machine framing system called Bosch Rexroth. There is a company in this country who manufacture an identical system in this country called KJN Aluminium based just outside Hinckley.

Its a great system and is basically Meccano for big boys! 😊. They manufacture framing in 20 x 20, 30 x 30 and 40 x 40 and make all the fittings to go with it including drawer runners, corners etc. You can design your own storage system to fit exactly what you want and its much cheaper than the German systems.

I have used it many times for different jobs and in fact I built the bed frame in the van using it so we could have draw out sections as you can see in the pic.

The company website is www.aluminium-profile.co.uk

If you played with meccano as a kid you're going to love it! 😄😄

I’ve just made this out of 20/20 extrusion, checker plate and 1000mm extension runners. It holds my 27.5 full suspension bike with both wheels off 2x SUP boards and our fire supplies. About £200 but so easy to get to things now.

Thanks so much!
I tried loads of companies here and the German firm won’t ship to the Scotland.

I’ll give this company a try.

Yep meccano as a kid a lot, I remember building a ski lift!

Thats interesting - Im thinking of getting a campscout.... I need quite a bit garage though and am now wondering if its tall enough with the bed down. Do you know what the height of the space is please?

Can't have a permanent storage system as the rear double is electric. It goes enough to get bikes or a moped in there, and then comes down so you can just step into bed rather than needing ladders, crampons and a Sherpa to carry you.

Anyway we tow a 500kg unbraked Anssems trailer so storage isn't an issue for us. Totally recommend it and the garage only has the spare wheel, winder, watering can, EHU and tool bag in it. Everything easy to find!

Albacore, sorry, van at FIAT Professional dealership North East Truck and Van awaiting gearbox repair, so can't measure that height.
It's been with them since 6 July, 10 weeks ago, but they're quite open about being too busy with higher priority (better paid?) work to fix it under warranty.

It’s not the dreaded Comfortmatic gearbox fault is it?

Yes, the Comfortmatic Message from Hell " Gears not available". It's such a tricky issue it takes FIAT Professional dealer North East Truck and Van longer that 10 weeks, and counting, to repair.

Oh dear sorry to hear you have issues, hope you get it back soon. I had a test drive yesterday and had the boat still in the car from the weekend so was able to try it out for size. Plenty of room :)

Hi, just wondering if you got this fixed yet and how many miles has your Campscout done? I have a 2019 version (same as your avatar) so am particularly interested. Thanks

We got the van back after > 14 weeks off the road.

One of the "6(?) clips on the clutch had broken which threw the flywheel/clutch sensors out of sync" and the ECU closed the gearbox down to avoid possible damage. Parts ordered for the warranty repair were a flywheel, clutch and release bearing. The van was registered in Feb 20 and had done 7,700 miles. A weekend trip to Northumberland went without incident and the van performed normally.

Thank you, glad you got it sorted.

Well, 14 weeks off the road for a warranty repair during the main summer months had it's bright side - FIAT threw in an oil change plus oil filter free of charge, as a goodwill gesture!
