Show Us Your Dethleffs !!!!!

@dpsuk999 If I remember correctly from a previous thread (a long time ago?) you were both travelling together (sister and brother-in-law?).

Mine was a chance encounter - I couldn’t resist pulling alongside when I saw it! Don’t seem to come across many of them.

After almost a 9 month wait we have just picked our new Dethleffs. I will post some interior photos at the weekend.

This is Jacque L'Escargot - our 1990 Globetrotter (we think!) at Leucate in the South of France last week. He is due some tlc and once he's had a full service we have some spare time to administer It! He's done 229000k so he is a little tired both cosmetically and mechanically but he's ours and we love him to bits!

Hopefully infinity and beyond but we'll start with bits of the UK we've only wizzed by or missed. Fancy west Scotland, Pembrokeshire and a look around the New Forest for starters. As to over the water, just waiting to see what hsppens with Brexit ( if I'm allowed to mention that - eyes passim)

Just collected this week.

First outing in her last night and another weekend away coming up. Built like a german tank compared to our previous MH.

What did you have previous to that?

Well, this is our 6501B. Picked it up on Wednesday and brought it home to west Wales. Really impressed with the build quality compared to so many other makes and nice attention to detail. this is our first MH and I have to say that Webbs, Reading, where we bought it were very good. On our shortlist was a Burstner (didn't like the interior), an Adria (a tad too long) and a Rapido (transverse bed was a bit awkward - but build quality was nice). Dethleffs ticked all the boxes and looks quite pretty inside and out.

A question about the 'mood lighting' strip that goes round the top of the cupboards. I need to remove mine because the LED strip behind is not working. Have you any tips for removal of the strip and the retaining clips? The previous owner had evidently had a go and managed to snap an end clip and had given up removing the strip. Thanks. Upgrade looks great!

We just purchased a 2007 Globebus 3..... Love the layout as we have had big tag axle vans but wanted to go smaller as only the two of us now....... The only drawback to the van is everything is mono wood veneer .... I took inspiration from all the new van out there2017/18 models of Top end & A class & used my years of experience go Kitchen?Bathroom fitting to do a revamp on our unit.... Saved £1000's on getting a fresh up to date look :)View attachment 226779View attachment 226780

Yes.. Had the same issue with my initial first attempt at removing, I ended up using a heat gun, if it's like mine the best way of doing it is heating in the middle of the strip as they come of in sections, you will see a groove where the plastic moulding attaches, once removed you can get to the clips very easily without damaging. I put 50/50 rgb LED in so can change colour & dim. I replaced the cover strip with 3mm acrylic opaque so gives a great look compared to the original plastic one that was on mine (all warped due to heat of the original light strip)... Hope this is of help. ?
