Meg and Spice at Friston forest this morning.

Poppy - 9yo Border Terrier and Harry - 7yo Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle cross)
Poppy has cost us more than any other dog we've had - broke 4 toes in her front left foot at 6 months,
in the last 2 years she's snapped 1 cruciate ligament and had an 80% tear in the other, 3 months ago she was diagnosed with Cushings Disease and is now on lifetime daily medication.

They would be shut in the kitchen if we went out or at night with a stairgate to keep them in as there was no door, Harry used to hang his front legs over the gate and jump with his back legs, he could have easily got out but never tried!

I need them on my field now, grass is 4ft high !!!

I’ll send them round then 😂 they aren’t great for keeping grass down but weed removal is right up their street!

I’ve never kept sheep so I don’t know what they will or won’t eat but I believe that sheep are better for general grass mowing. My goats have eaten all the ivy, brambles, etc and nettles that grew all over the woodland we bought at the back of our house. They also eat the wild garlic down which has enabled me to grow grass from seed in the most shady area. We do have to keep them back from the beech hedge we planted using an electric fence, otherwise they strip all the leaves and lower small shoots for as high as they can reach! They will eat grass but it’s last on the list!

I love goats. Used to milk mine. Such great pets. One was a bottle fed kid and still thought she should sit on your knee full grown
Aww 😍Mine are Pygmy goats. Charlie is very friendly and loves to be stroked and scratched. Lola is a bit feisty, sometimes she will allow strokes but sometimes she doesn’t want it, you can tell by the look on her face which mood she is in 😂 Pickle will allow strokes mostly, she was rescued by her previous owner from being poorly kept and was very nervous when we got her, it’s been so nice to see her relax with humans

Didn't see any Goldfish as pets;)

Went to see our grandson on his 6th birthday last week. I was horrified to see a goldfish swimming around in a tiny bowl with hardly any water. Don’t like to interfere but thought I’m going to have to say something, then my daughter said “it’s a battery one”. Very realistic.

Reminds me of a job when I was temping years ago and worked for the commercial director of a company. I was somewhat flummoxed when during a conversation, he looked at me and announced “I’ve kept goldfish you know”. I took it to mean he knew what he was talking about! Anyone else heard that expression?

I know I love pigs but sadly I also love bacon. I would have a field full of pigs but would fall in love with all of them, giving them names and worrying about them being out there all alone at night. I was a nightmare when a local farmer put his Shire Horse on my field once I was constantly phoning him and saying "he needs hay, he needs water, can I give him apples and carrots?" I once went on to the field to give him a stroke and he had an erection, the horse not the farmer :ROFLMAO: I jumped over the fence and ran in the house and locked all the doors and windows, I've never seen 'owt like that :giggle:
