Yes previous owner fetched it out of Cornwall,
I'm in Doncaster

Some wonderful bikes and memories there folks. Thanks for the posts.

Sadly I lost all my bike photos some years ago.

Currently hiding in boxes .. motor is in another chassis, the shock is off a car , and the silencer is off a Triumph, bought as a non runner, but only because the guy couldnt start it,

It will end up like this, eventually.

This one looks a bit girly but it was wonderful to ride - you couldn't fall off it!
It came to me in a selection of old wooden boxes.

I had a Monster 900 Dark.

Its not a fast bike and its hard riding, you will notice all the pot holes. I always felt the spring was missing from the rear suspension on mine.

Very good to ride but did not go far on a tank of fuel. Clutch rattles like its broken especially at tick over.

I would not personally buy any of the smaller "cc" versions.

But I would definitely buy another 900 Monster and regret selling mine.

When I was 18 and just passed my test I fancied a Ducati 900ss, a Harley Sportster and a Guzzi Le Lemans. I have had an old Sporty - it was fun but . . . more of a motorized hernia in the making. I also managed to get a Le-mans - it was quite some time ago and regrettably I moved it on. Never had a Ducati and probably never will now as it would have to be a bevel. I do have these at the moment

A 350 V35 Mk1 and a V50 500 Monza - the Monza is my next restore project - I'm thinking of selling the 350.

I'm afraid that I'm not into motorbikes as I had a James 125 as a teenager and my older cousin who was a village policeman gave me one of his castoff "Corker" helmets and insisted I wear it much to the amusement of my mates .
But yesterday I was walking past a hardware shop in Port William on Luce Bay, Galloway and spotted this in the window...

The model name on the tank made me smile

Royal Enfield engine, Burman or Albion gearbox, Possibly RE hubs and what looks like a home made frame.

Just looking through this thread stirred a few memories and raised a question ; particularly about putting fuel in them. When petrol was 6/8p a gallon I used to go up to the pump (always attended pumps then) and ask for "half a gallon and a shot" to which the attendant produced a large oil can type appliance and pump the 'shot' into the tank which you had to mix with the new petrol by shaking the tank from side to side. Never new what the 'shot' was for then (still not sure now) but presumably two stroke oil?

Picking it up.

2 stroke oil dispenser & you dialed in the mix ratio 16 to 1 through to 50 to 1

The scooter I could live with - but god no - anything but a trike!!

It is great to see what junk.... sorry precious artefacts ... folk have tucked away. I have to say , there are some lovely bits of kit, but on all of them i love the MZ250 ETZ .. its just so gronky.

I know they're not like a solo but believe me, they are fun to ride. As you no doubt already know the downside is getting stuck in traffic but if I ever reach the stage where I can't hold a solo up then a trike is a definite possibility.

Top marks to the op for starting this thread and those who have uploaded a photo or two, very much enjoyed my viewing time here.

I never kept or wanted any of my old bikes.
They'd been raced, crashed, thrashed or neglected.

Just plastic and metal to me.

But have enjoyed this thread:)
