We are on 'holiday' in France (if you can call it that). Day 6 and my mother was admitted to hospital. She's been in a week, so holiday has been suspended, I'm very much in limbo visiting during the afternoon each day. I've been with ID mobile for several years and pay £10 for 100gb each month on a monthly Contract. All good I thought as the unused data rolls to following month so came away with 200gb. However took some gopro footage which took a chunk of data to upload. I wanted to keep filming as I explored the area in the mornings before visiting times so mum can experience some of the holiday. However today we received the news that she needs to stay in for at least another 3 weeks, surgeons preferred option is for her not to travel home for hospital. Shock all round but then eventually I realised my data will not last and I need it to stay in contact, and also to stream TV whilst on my lonesome at night. It would be dire without that company. Called ID explained my predicament and they have immediately upped my tariff to unlimited for an extra £5. I snapped his hand off! I've been very impressed with their flexibility and pricing over the years and now am super impressed. Can highly recommend ID Mobile. (signal coverage has been faultless too)

With ID and also currently in France, I have unlimited for £18 pm and have used over 100GB with no issues. It’s that high as OH uses my hotspot plus I’ve watched 3 live football matches.

I was on ID mobile but the coverage around here was pretty poor. It was good value but it meant I had to be in certain parts of our house to use the phone

So can you use all your allowance in EU please ??? . If you get A referers bonus you can send me a link as you recommended it first 😊

Yes you can use your allowance in the EU as you do at home, below are the text I received from them when arriving in the EU and the fair usage policy. Please read this to make sure it’s suits your use, you’ll find it on their website.
I don’t think they have a code but thanks for the offer.
I’ve also included my bill and usage as it’s due today.

Thanks for sharing that . I was going to change to Lebara but I’m thinking of this now - good service means a lot these days

Go on the phone reseller sites and check the deals for ID on them as they are often 50% less than going direct.

Just make sure you have good coverage where you live as I had one and eventually couldn't use it at all so got released from the contract with no penalty.

Pleased you had some luck but after my experiences I would never use any SIM that uses the Three network for roaming, tried several always been a PIA.

You can only use a certain amount of data in the EU based on your contract fee as Fontie said

Are you sure it means what you think it does? By my reckoning it means you have roughly 12gb of data pcm.

Read the fair usage photo I posted, plus I have a £5 overspend cap on my account and the full £5 is still there so no extra charge for what I’ve used.

To avoid any confusion I received my monthly bill today, it’s normally £18 so the extra 14p if for an international call I had to make.
First photo shows my last 3 bills and second photo my itemised one from 9/4-9/5, 3rd photo shows my current usage.
Hopefully that clears up any doubts folk have as I certainly understand it.

Some people obviously haven't read what lorger has used abroad so far, he doesn't seem to have any limit.
I have but I'm 'talking' to the OP, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Lorger and the OP have different contracts depending on when they took them out. Having had an ID sim and read the ID info I can see nowhere that it says you will be able to use all of your allowance abroad. The below is where it explains your allowance - enter the monthly payment and it will tell you how much you can use in the EU.

lorger, when did you get your contract?

Minxy I think it was around November time last year.

Ah ha! Just found something in their 'FAQ' which may be applicable ... I've highlighted it in red below.

What is the open data policy?

Our open data policy only applies to selected plans. To see if it applies to you, please visit idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/eu-roaming/fair-usage-policy and answer the two short questions.
The open data policy has been designed to prevent someone using excessive amounts of data when they're roaming. Selected plans have an EU data roaming threshold, which is the maximum data allowance that can be used for roaming. If a customer exceeds this more than once, they'll incur a data roaming surcharge of 0.59p per MB of data
If the open data policy applies to your plan, you'll receive a text from us when you reach 80% and 100% of the threshold, to make you aware of the situation and give you a chance to change your usage behaviour.

This isn't mentioned on their Roaming page:

It is very bad of ID to have 2 different things on it's website especially when it tells you to go to the 'fair usage policy' page and answer 2 questions to find out which then tells you that you ARE restricted when some plans are NOT.

The only way to know for sure is probably to ask ID and get it in writing.

Sounds like great service for the OP. However when I looked at ID 5 weeks ago and seeking clarification on Roaming ,after much pushing, the advisor admitted E U Roaming fair use policy was 7.7gb pm. It was in the Fair Use T&C. Up to that point he was saying full uk allowance was available. Of course things may have changed since then!! I was looking at the £10pm 50 gb sim only contract.

I was in more or less the same situation with iD when requesting a firm answer on what data was available for EU touring. Eventually they admitted it was the ‘fair use’ figure, which I wasn’t happy with. Since then I’ve gone with the RWG 200gb data only ‘Global’ SIM to ensure 100% connectivity and usage.

"Can ... worms ... of" comes to mind!

They issued new T&Cs in November 2022 but I can't find any mention in them of 'selected' plans nor in the previous T&Cs ...

How much have you used already?
114gb, I use it for TV, satnav, radio on alexa and gopro uploads (but that takes ages anyway)

Yes they upped my overspend from 0 to 5 when I upgraded...
