Been thinking for the last 6 months that I should carry a spare, we’ve done around 350 nights in the van since getting it in ‘21. Thought about it again before we left for a 6 week break but didn’t get round to it.
What do you think happened during SWMBO’s shower yesterday, yup, the water pump failed. On a Sunday in Alsace when everything is closed.
So for all the cost get a spare and tuck it away. It doesn’t cost much, doesn’t weigh much, takes 10 mins to fit and you’ll not regret it.
It was an international effort though, it failed in France yesterday, today we started the morning in France, into Luxembourg where I got a spare, into Belgium where we stopped at a supermarket so I fitted it while she did the shopping then back into Luxembourg then Belgium again to visit the Battle of the Bulge museum in Bastogne which was excellent. Overnight in Belgium then heading for Calais.
Life would be boring if the borders were in a straight line. Thank goodness no border controls (yet).
