Shipping from UK to North America

Hi folks, we are tentatively planning to ship the van to North America next year. Just wondering if anyone here has done that? it would be interesting to hear of peoples experiences?

I went for 3 months a couple of years ago, cycling not van. I survived on wi-fi for everything, all calls were made with WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger.

Definitely doable just not quite as convenient.

We did raise some eyebrows when three of us (my Grandson was with us) would descend upon Starbucks or similar, each of us with at least three devices and start updating and uploading them on their wifi

A few hours on a plane with some crap movies or a few days trapped on what is basically a cargo vessel with nowt to do..... I know my choice.

Just received a quote from Seabridge today return journey from Liverpool to Halifax 8000 Euro +Marine Insurance. Still a lot cheaper than renting an RV for 6 months.

My Flair is 8 Mts long, I didn't ask about insurance but they stated that they can organise same if you want. Some people are saying that if you have relatives in the states it is sometimes a lot cheaper to use there address
