No worries John, theres plenty of time yet. They are open for another couple of months.

Camped there when i was thirteen with the scouts sat up on the hill watching the Vulcan bombers doing touch and gos on the airfield.

What I do find interesting is lots of people came here when they were young but for some reason don't come now they are older. Is it because they find France,Spain more interesting???.

I always wanted to stay there when I used to go to Porthmadog in the 'van but there was something preventing this.

Did they used to not allow either motorhomes or dogs?

(I'm talking about 20 years ago)

am thinking of going down to Shell for the end of season bash which is he last weekend of October.
There will be a huge firework display and live band in a purpose built marquee.
Its looking like a great weekend, so is anyone interested in meeting up down there.

I am getting really, really old...

Just looked at the Shell Island website and it looks...

GHASTLY... :Eeek:

JJ

I must agree with the first kine of your post JJ:Rofl1:

Not bad at all JJ...

JJ, yes but you can camp on Shell Island within 30 yards of the sea, in a little nook, just big enough for 2 vans and watch the sun go down, and walk in splendid isolation around the sand dunes and collect shells? The grockles camp together in colonies, but it's quite possible to be away from all that, the site is so big.

Catherine

PS, had my first FB S&K pudding in the van last week, Very good!! I am converted.

How did you get on there?

I have never bothered to go because they say they only accept campers!
