hAnks Jim. That was just a test .. don't know when going .. waiting on daughter but you have put my mind at rest.

Expensive or what...

July / Aug it would cost us £31 per night .. ( two dogs, three adults)

That's one of the several reasons I won't ever be going back there.

I think it's horribly expensive for what it is.

Excepting that horrible monstrosity near the entrance, that we would never think of using anyway, it's more or less the same as Lyndon Top - just a series of fields with water taps.

All apart from the price - £8 per unit at Lyndon in what I think is a far nicer place to spend time.

Like most places its expensive in July and August. It really shines for single over 60s who pay £35 for 7 days camping. I used to use it a lot when I had a boat as I could launch from there with a weeks camping and boating for less than £50.

Hell Island!!!!!
Well, it is on Bank Holidays and School Holidays. I went there most weekends as a kid with Mum & Dad in their Ford Thames Dormobile. Wasn't as well known then and was brilliant. We went a couple of years ago and it was full of groups of kids in Vauxhall CorsaZ playing music til all hours.
Don't want to put anybody off because it is lovely but just be aware.
Most of the lunatics tend to go down by the Sand Dunes.
There is also a site called Nant-Col waterfalls a few miles away if you want a relaxing few days.

Shell island for one Bill ,tell the wee man ,wife and dog to lie low at the back whilst you pay!
As there's no pitches and it's going to be busy no one will know ,if you think they're taking the piss take it back.

Fair points well made, have you tried France. Cheap or free aires and some great safe beaches for swimming and some reasonably priced places to eat.
