You do realise that if this thread does not uncover the SOG mystery, we will ALL have to resort to that unenviable task of consulting that polythene covered fully sealed instruction manual then with any luck getting someone else to read it out loud to you whilst you firmly disagree with any of the logical advice contained therein After all we are Funsters and know all the shortcuts....dont we?

Yes you should have a filter. A different one to mine, as yours is a slightly different model.

I believe you need.

did just adding filter work or did you need work in the cassette?
paid dealer to add a sog and i think they just added a filter and charged me 300 quid!

THanks folks. I wasn't aware that the thetford also had an electrical component to it as well, I suspect that I don't have it on mine; It would be a costly and unnecessary redundancy from a manufacturers perspective. I was wondering about all that as the cassette is located in a recess beneath the box and has a hole in the top cover but none in the bottom. If its drawing air, where ia it coming from?

I will try and go for the SOG activated charcoal filter only and not use any chemicals. We are off to a music festival for a 3 day off grid bonanza so it should be a ripe chance to try it out.

Anybody got any leads on non OEM charcoal filters? SOG want £12! Thetford want £22 - bandits!!!
