Not sure if anyone can help but I'll ask anyway.
I recently changed the oil using genuine Oil and Filter from my local Fiat Professional Dealer.
Unfortunately I cannot see how to reset the oil degradation counter.
Has anyone managed to reset this counter?
It'll be due its first service in September so I have just booked it in to Adams Morey in Portsmouth for early Sept.
I changed it despite not needing to officially because I like fresh oil once a year and we took the Campervan to Spain earlier in march for a few weeks... 1000019246.jpg

Yes I think you might be right. The previous model you could reset service indicator by pressing brake pedal and switching ignition.
Seems like a lot of faff. Even topping up with oil is a process in itself. No dipstick just blocks of LCD on the dash..Over complicated just for the sake of it in my opinion..
👍😁

Maybe....

Hold down the Accelerator for 60 secs, then pump the brake 7 times, wait for 60 secs then turn off the ignition. You then wait a further 60 secs and all should be returned back to normal.

I'm not sure that's works on the latest series 8.
I've seen it on YouTube but the previous generation.
I'll give it a go next week, I'm not holding out much hope though.

I assume mine is the 'previous generation' Bought it new in 2021. I've never seen a service indicator????

It's part of the LCD display.
Apart from Service and oil it shows oil level and Adblue level etc.
You might have the previous generation.
If you don't have the new type steering wheel which looks like a sports type one you won't have the series 8..👍

Sorry - you mis understand. I know I have the previous model but you said .....

I have never seen anything on mine regarding services and it's 3 years old now. I had the first service done after 2 years at my local garage but there was nothing telling me it needed doing.

I can tell you it works also in series 8, if it's the same procedure as this video below (although being previous generation).
Sorry, video is in Portuguese.

Procedure is (similar as Jev88 described):
Accelerator down, turn the key one position, then brake 5 times (3 seconds at least between each operation) and key OFF. After 15s, release accelerator pedal.

Thanks for that I will give it a go.
Assume this just resets the oil service indicator and not the main Service Indicator?
Thanks anyway. 👌👍

This method was used by a mate with a series 8 as ours. It resets the oil degradation counter. In the garage he used (not a Fiat garage), they didn't know how to proceed after the service.
