Still have and will keep our "residencia permanente" and our p.o box as we also have our spanish medical cards.

Are you sure that exempts you from the.90/180 Schengen rule outside Spain? My Polish Residency, whether permanent or not, would not do that, only Citizenship would. I suggest you check.

If I were considering your move I would rent out the house for a year until you had proved the success of fulltiming.

Even a Spanish resident (with a UK passport) is limited to 90/180. But there are no borders, so, who's counting?

We're not going over our 90 days btw.

Does your research indicate that the difference before and after 2012 applied only to Spain?

I moved to Poland in 2011, so I could be in the same position - never knew of a difference based on 2012.
