Hi.. My name is Dave, and my wife's name is Tania, and we are both UK expats. We've been living here in Almeria, Andalucia, Spain for the past 20 years. We've made the decision to sell our Spanish farmhouse and land to become nomads and buy a motorhome to tour Europe and beyond. You will probably be seeing more of us on here telling you of our experiences..Good and bad

Welcome to the Fun House 😀

(Also Dave)

Please note, ONLY Dave's are allowed to post on this thread .... 😀😀🙄

Welcome to the fun from Scotland, will be joining you when retired to Portugal next year, travelling Europe with a bolt hole flat near Lisbon.
Alex ( not even remotely a Dave)🤪😎

Best wishes but have you tried motorhoming before? The choice of MH will be important, for example you might be tempted to buy something massive with lots of storage then find out your style of touring would suit something smaller. Insulation levels, ground clearance, black tank or not, lots of decisions to be made. If you want to explore beyond Europe do you plan to ship the vehicle to say the US? It can be done although buying something there then selling it is a more common approach, this is a good way to see Australia too. :)

You are all in danger of being 'Daved' - it's a bit like being sent to Coventry by Jim (who prob knows lots of Dave's he can reference to make a valid post) - but being 'Daved' has a lot less impact, in fact it has no impact whatsoever

Us Dave's do have a bank named after us though!

I made a similar move last year, selling a house and buying a truck to live full time, having never owned a camper/motorhome before and I love the lifestyle. I hope it meets your expectations, it's actually exceeded mine.

Good luck and safe travels.

Mark

Are you keeping your Spanish TIE's (or previous tatty green paper/cards) and tax residency. If not you'll default to be TC residents and limited by 90/180.

Judith (father was a Dave) resident in Spain 😊
Still have and will keep our "residencia permanente" and our p.o box as we also have our spanish medical cards.

Have already been to the states and many years ago I converted a volvo estate in to a mono camper and had to live in it for reasons of work for six winter months. Our travels will be mostly EU, Ireland and UK.
