Hi

We have posted on here before but not really getting anywhere we suggestions so just wondered how others have gotten on selling their motorhome.

We have called and submitted long forms to numerous places and had to call them and we have had 3 knock backs so far saying they are not buying at moment 😟.

We have a burstner ixeo 2019 with lots of extras.

Is there anyone who’s had similar issues ?

Thank you ☺️

I might even think 🤔 you are Simon from select trying to set my expectations very low 😂😂😂
We part exchanged our Pilote P650 paid £58k in 2020 and got £53k in part exchange and sold various bits for £1k. They have it up for sale at £63k.
Hope yours sells you sound like a very sensible funster which is strange lol 😂

Yes 👏🏼 that sounds more like it to me. Of course they want and need to make a large profit but 25,000 under what it’s worth ( as suggested above ) sounds bit iffy to me …. “ we buy any motorhome dot com “ territory 🤣🤣🤣

wow mid 50s seems low to me … even taking into account profit etc …… but it’s a market I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ but that seems very low .
If they can't clear £10k profit on the sale after man-hours of admin, cleaning, advertising, yard rent, loan interest, tyre kickers, warranty claims, fixing little things, and having the advertised price reduced and waning seasonal interest, then it's not worth them selling it.

It's a lot of cash and valuable yard space to have tied up potentially for many months.

So work out what the lowest price you would accept if you were selling it yourself directly, with a personal warranty.
Then knock off £15k off that figure, which is how the Dealers will price it.

Remember a lot of dealers buy vehicles and sell them onto other dealers.
It's not unusual for a vehicle to be sold between 2-3 dealers.

We bought a Minibus recently, got in touch with the original owner, who had sold it a year earlier to a dealer in a different area of the country. 'Our' dealer had bought it at a dealers auction, and then found it very difficult to shift, nothing wrong with the vehicle, just not enough buyers.

Tried Simon …. It’s proving very difficult to actually get hold of him. We spoke to his colleague Barry yesterday but still not heard … we sent through spec etc …… I’m feeing they not really interested either as we are constantly chasing them.
Sorry, been away for 5 days! Will ring this morning!

That would explain, as Simon is known to respond on here very promptly. Maybe his colleague should have told you of Simon's absence.
Most of the companies I've ever worked for have 'no one is ever at lunch or on holiday' rule to phone callers.
They are 'in a meeting' or 'visiting clients' and then offer to help.

Basically no company wants to be seen as coming to a grinding halt because someone is on holiday.

We had to take our 2022 Hymer to Travelworld last week for warranty work. Out of interest we asked what they would give us for it and they replied that they wouldn't take it!!
Did you purchase it from them?

Did you ask if they were interested in your other one or has it gone now?

Nobody sai Simon was on holiday - he might have been visiting a supplier's factory.

We sold via motorhomedepot. Very professional and it eliminated the tyre kickers. First to view bought and we received what we expected. We could probably have got more selling privately but for us it was worth paying the commission due to personal circumstances.

Being 'economical with the actualite' is part of the job of any receptionist.
They are the first line of defence of any office.

Try cold calling any director or CEO of any office based company.
The chances of getting through are slim unless you have a very good reason or a known individual.

Excellent

Often people would call my business and insist on only talking to me, and wouldn't countenance speaking to any one else.

Well, Simon won't say as he was brought up with a work ethic and not make excuses

He has a complication with type 1 diabetes

He has been hospitalised several times this year, AMU (Accute Medical Unit) and Emergency Resuscitation twice, I know as Lyn and I have have to go to Torbay Hospital to see him with his array of drips, and dog sit on occasion.
All sorted! Coming to me on the 15th!
Excellent the show must always go on!

He'd prefer to be on a 'Jolly' than being rushed to hospital 🏥

How does a receptionist tell a potential customer that the boss has collapsed and been hospitalised? In a burgeoning business that's doing amazingly well given how long it's trading

You don't want to do anything to potential rock the boat

The other aspect of selling through them is they are the third party and you feel a little more confidence in actually getting your money.
