Selfish g**s!

Picture of the motorhome obstructing the life buoy for the beach. I pointed this out to them but didn’t give a hoot.

We have many drownings in Pembrokeshire so they are a must.

PS The man in the photo is not the owner of the van.

Im gonna be unpopular here looking how everyone else has replied.
I don't see the problem on how they have parked at all, if you go on google streetview you can see quite clearly the nearest that the bailey was to the lifebouy was it was beside the driver door, as it's between the van and the beach its not blocked from view if your on the beach or in the water. OK, it's blocked from view from the road, though so is most of the beach so you'd not see anyone in distress in the water anyway. But this leads me onto the next point.

Any large "car / van" eg Rangerover, SWB transit, Vivaro, or even VW campervan with raised roof would do the same and the inference from most of the messages here would be thats ok as it would only be taking up one space? Can't have your cake and eat it really, but there's the rub too.

None of the vehicles parked on this stretch are parked illegally, none. Theres no restriction whatsoever, no marked bays, no yellow lines and no signs visible either in the posted pictures or the google street view images.
So personally I don't see the issue and infact if I came across this I'd happily park there too, maybe even use as an overnight spot as it's close to both beach and the inn.

It’s because they are idiots and don’t understand the dangers of the sea.

I have seen some unbelievable sights of English holiday makers on South Pembrokeshire beaches.

Stupid does not even begin to cover it

Have you got this as a printable document, I would use it regularly. The number of times I have seen Motorhomes parking sideways across 3 or 4 spaces. Guaranteed to get non Motorhomers backs up and it only fuels the pressures to close car parks to Motorhomers🥴
You can right click on the image and save as a jpeg picture.
Not sure if Littlewheels has a better original picture

But they all say that Judith don’t they…😎

Oh yes. Everyone picks up on our resort (some locals are very good), so where does all the d9g sh1t come from?

Some, even bagged and left 30 metres from a dog bin (with free dog poo bag dispenser) 🤬.

But "locals" of their own area, generally are "holier" than the rest of us

Can you please type here the 2 missing letters in your title.... Even though I 've had for the last 11 years the best teacher ever on the matter...I can't figure out this one:unsure:! Probably me having one of these old age moment:confused: ... I'm going to be told off if JJ sees this ....
I feel your pain.
I've no idea why people alter the words they write.
It's not as if a minor has access to the forum and is being shielded from shit & gits

AND the rule 1 people throw about if they feel a post is objectionable is quite specific about not trying to alter word to defeat the site's post features 🤷‍♂️

They looked to me as they have parked the correct way for the road markings, the cars are not in the designated zone

Then park somewhere else or buy a smaller van!
Quite so, I'm Not condoning their parking, they would have been better to find somewhere that wouldn't take up so much room, they must have realised car drivers would have been annoyed and think them selfish. But I'm surprised they didn't offer some excuse.

I’m sure that there was a thread on here a couple of weeks ago where someone was saying that they had parked illegally but were happy to pay the fine

I gave up trying to predict which way a thread will go years ago '\. It goes, where is goes, the unpredicabilty is maybe part of the attraction of forums.

You can get fake parking fine notices on flyaway. I've got a few and use them in situations like this. There is space to write your own reasons

I’m with you on this. In the first photo isn’t it the blue VW Transporter and possibly other vehicles over to the right that are parked outwith the designated area? And in the second photo there is the red Citroen doing the same, plus at least three other vehicles beyond the MoHo on double yellows?

EDIT: Third photo shows five vehicles parked inside the double yellows - so who’s actually in the wrong here?

Yes you are right and that is why Pembrokeshire Council will have another excuse to put up yet more signs banning motorhomes from parking.

Common sense and some etiquette will go some way to providing MH parking. Selfishness will get us nowhere.

As I said, I love being an FLT but this has got to come with consideration for others.

As for the life buoy, it was hidden from the road. I am an avid open water swimmer so this really gets my goat.

Rant over, time for a glass of red.

That entire article is just the typical busybodies with nowt else to do complaining. The quoted " why should they get a freebie when everyone else has to pay " and the " most are expensive units so if they can afford them they can afford site fees" is the usual jealousy fueled claptrap that is always rolled out in these desperate for a story rags.

And the "where are they disposing of waste ". How original

Unless the vans are staying there for 4 or 5 nights plus they will have their waste in the cassette same as anyone else. I can guarantee it is not only the van owners who do a pee outside as theres obviously not a public toilet there.

The dog walkers dogs will certainly be peeing there.

As for heavy vehicles destroying the carpark. The lorries, steam roller and council vans most likely weighed the same or more than a camper van.

Its just uneducated big mouthed busy bodies complaining that their leisure activities are better than others and should be completely disregarded.

That van is parked the correct way for that space. To park a car side on it would be overhanging the line and encroaching on to the road .

Sorry mate but you are wrong. A normal car can park in that space. A truck or large car cannot. I have lived here for 23 years and this is the first time I have seen MHs being so selfish. There is loads of parking for larger vehicles at the other end of the beach (if you get there early enough) and parking is free.

Sign of the times I am afraid.

Clearly not as the red Citroen parked behind the motorhome is overhanging by at least 1 metre, as are the cars parked between the 2 motorhomes. All are sticking past the white line and in to the road.

Is there any signage restriction for vehicles of a certain size or type in place there?

A judge, a magistrate... 🤷‍♂️
Unworkable IMO
A long period of inaction between the offence and the punishment, with courts clogged by minor problems

In Spain there are companies driving grab lorries (Grua) around which simply lift illegally parked vehicles onto low-loaders and leave a note telling owners where to collect them (at a cost, naturally). I was never involved but perhaps the driver can argue that they had a good reason to be there?

Obviously I don’t know how they would cope with a motorhome; perhaps tow it away?

Fairly instant activity and space restored where it was designed to be; driver inconvenienced and money provided to fund continued work. What’s not to like?
