Cuenca!! It will blow your mind as it did oursWe love the place, history ,castle, cathedral and of course the aquaduct. Is there any other place in Spain on a par with Segovia? and needs a camp site close by
Rodrigo Diaz de Bivar’s (El CID) tomb and travelling chest are in the golden Cathedral at Burgos. There is a free aire in a huge car park nearby; no facilities. That castle is great and was used in the EL Cid film
Segovia is wonderful, also Toledo. We love the place, history ,castle, cathedral and of course the aquaduct. Is there any other place in Spain on a par with Segovia? and needs a camp site close by
Segovia has a camp site - just one, as far as we could establish: Camping El Acueducto which is on the Av de don Juan de Borbon y Battemberg, heading south east out of the city towards San Iidefonso, just inside the bypass. We stayed there for a few days a couple of years ago and it was perfectly adequate, though nothing special. Very little shade on many pitches, but a nice little pool and a small shop. The bonus was there was a bus stop right outside with regular buses into the city centre and back, cost about EUR3, I recall. We didn't particularly fancy the look of the aire behind the bull ring. The city itself is fabulous, almost on a par with Sevilla. We love the place, history ,castle, cathedral and of course the aquaduct. Is there any other place in Spain on a par with Segovia? and needs a camp site close by
We stayed in the aire at Cacares a couple of years ago, off the Avenida de la Universidad behind the Edificio Valhondo. Very busy and we were lucky to get a spot, but although there were obviously a couple of "locals" who effectively lived there, it didn't feel unsafe. We woke up to find the local bin men had used the next door MoHo bay to park about 50 empty wheelie bins, though! The old town is only a short walk uphill and is really fascinating. It was fine for a night. Was that the Valhondo one adjacent to the bus depot to which you refer? I wasn't aware of any significant activity when I was there. Quite the reverse.
I visited Albarracin last year in a 6.5m A class that is 3m high. I came down the A23 from Zaragoza and came in through Cella and had no issues, so you should be fine. But as you say, I think that’s the only way in with a motorhome.Booked camp site at Albarracin.Looking at how to get there from Segovia it seems we need to approach from the north as the approach from the south is via a tunnel under the town!! and I cant' see any height restrictions but I am 3.2 m high.
So for anyone who has been can you tell me if all roads from the north are suitable for 7m long motorhome
