I am the proud owner of one of his Guitars....We love the place, history ,castle, cathedral and of course the aquaduct. Is there any other place in Spain on a par with Segovia? and needs a camp site close by
By the old Bull RingThere's an aire in the centre
I am the proud owner of one of his Guitars....
Yup. One he actually played, well worn and gifted to a close relative of mine who was a long time associate of his.You mean one he actually played??
I recently returned home from my first tour of Spain (other than the Costas). We love the place, history ,castle, cathedral and of course the aquaduct. Is there any other place in Spain on a par with Segovia? and needs a camp site close by

Peavy I don't think you are aware of my playing abilitiesYou're absolutely right Judith, I would love to. I bet Martin jumar would love that too![]()
We stopped in the parador at Carmona on a short winter break. Old moorish fortress with amazing views.Don’t neglect the Peublos Blancos (white villages) N and W of Seville. Along the A4 to Cordoba there is Carmona and Elijah. Both well worth a visit.
The big fiestas make a great focus. The Fallas festival, in March, in Valencia is a week of pyrotechnic fun. Incredible street sculptures and all in a fantastic city. Very highly recommended.
Also the Feria in Seville is a one off. Worth it just to see tens of thousands of local ladies in full costume. Spectacular !

Most of what I play is with a pick. I do fingerstyle for some classical guitar stuff I play and some bass guitar parts also.Peavy I don't think you are aware of my playing abilities
But you...do you finger pick...having heard your Spotify additions with great appreciation... I'm not sure picking is your number one playing style...is it?
Good array of City visits....regarding the mention of the homeless centre...they would be sat around... after all they are homeless..but it doesn't make them theives, rapists etc...they are just less fortunate that you and me..If you like cities then our recent trip from Santander to Cadiz fits the bill.
We started at Santillana, then Palencia, Valladolid, Salamanca, Caceres, Merida, Seville, then Puerto de Santa Maria for Cadiz (via ferry).
All camperstops except Santa Maria, so all within walking distance of the centre except the Salamanca aire (which has a bus stop nearby).
We stopped on the campsite at Santa Maria as we needed a washing machine and a rest.
The only aire we didn't stay the night was at Caceres where there is a homeless shelter next door and lots of people sat around, so we moved to a lovely aire about 15 minutes south.
No, I nearly didn't mention about the homeless but we just felt a little uncomfortable with them sat watching us go out and felt that we wouldn't have got a comfortable night's sleep.Good array of City visits....regarding the mention of the homeless centre...they would be sat around... after all they are homeless..but it doesn't make them theives, rapists etc...they are just less fortunate that you and me..![]()
Was that the Valhondo one adjacent to the bus depot to which you refer? I wasn't aware of any significant activity when I was there. Quite the reverse. The only aire we didn't stay the night was at Caceres where there is a homeless shelter next door and lots of people sat around, so we moved to a lovely aire about 15 minutes south.
From the French border, we did Burgos, Salamanca, Valladolid, past Avila to Toledo, Cordoba, Seville, Jerez, Puerto de SM for Cadiz, Ronda and Granada, then back up the East Coast via Bolnuevo; and you must see the Templar Castle at Peniscola! If you like cities then our recent trip from Santander to Cadiz fits the bill.
