Scotland in 14 nights

David ,why dont you get a bottle of cheap red ,pour some out and fill it up with laxative ,make sure both toilet cassets are empty first ,then give your FIL liberal glasses of it ,that ought to get rid of him for an hour or two:sneaky:

Laird - that's downright naughty

Am enjoying the blog as usual. I think you will look back on this trip in a few years with some fondness, but for now just think of all the points and good karma you are clocking up with BJ (sorry Bev).

Not if she reads this thread!!
:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Only started to read this tonight, it's taken up a "few" minutes of my time!!!

For some reason I thought it was an old, resurrected thread, but now I've started it I'll be reading it every day with interest!

Good luck.

I don't get the BJ thing ..... Is it cos I'se a girl?

Ooooooooooooooooooooh - just googled it - now I get it.....

I think BEV is a Beverley Jane , like me.
Shes also called BJ by her dad. :Eeek:
David did say , earlier on in the thread.

I don't think the BJ thing is too bad.
My grandfather spent 60 years calling my grandmother Bona  Of course my kids decided to call her grandma Bona with much giggling every time. :)

I think I must have subconsciously chose to ignore that bit!

I don't think I could ever buy this product with a straight face now.......

Cliff's Late father was named Laurence Clifton and was always known as Elsie. We named Our Little'un Robert Clifton, and he can sometimes live up to the initials! Not as bad as BJ though - sorry Bev!

What a happy little group and welcome back David, your thread has gone seriously downhill and smutty while you have been out there enjoying yourselves so don't stray too far again.

Although I will say that at least a couple of members know something tonight that they didn't know this morning, and thats always a good thing, education education education.

we then travelled on to Falls of Shin, near Lairg, we have spotted salmon leaping up the falls, one of lifes bucket list things maybe

hoping not to be a repeat of the deer saga, we arrived to no midges (y), then wandered down to the river

Just think what that poor salmon has to do - swim up stream for 1000s of miles, whilst risking being eaten by a bear, and your moaning about a couple of weeks with the inlaws.....

The falls of Shin were a great success, then we moved on to a local tourist thingie for coffee, parked in a large car park and FIL started

'you haven't put your step in' he announced as I walked away with no need or intention of putting it away, 'its OK I will kick it back in'

No, stop, too late, half in half out, what did you do that for? (you complete knob) the last bit thought, not said (I hope again)

You know it is electric we use that switch every time we set off, just after you say every time what is that beep?:mad:

Anyway I decide to leave it like it is and hope it is not totally done in, he chunters after me, isn't yours one of those manual or electric ones then, like he would know never having even been in a MH

as it happens no harm done to step, we continue towards our stop for the night at Durness

I don't know whether to press the 'like', 'funny' or 'informative' button - I just wish there was a button that registered - 'I feel your pain.....' ;)

for those of you concerned about the narrow single track roads, I must say I was slightly worried the first time, but it really is a doddle, heres a few shots to show you just how busy it gets in the peak of the season up here :) these were all taken between Lairg and Tongue on the A836, yes this is an A road :LOL:

we agree to stop off at Smoo Caves, me because I like it there and a little of me (quite a lot actually) because it has about 200 steps down to the beach and FIL has a bad knee, thinking he will stay at the top, well so much for the bad knee, he is first one down o_O, well at least he may never make it back up :)

I came here on my trip Jan 15, there is a waterfall dropping about 100ft straight down into the cave, thought it would be interesting to see the difference in the amount of water at this time of year, just a little :) first one today, second last year

although I maybe have to agree @daveandsan the stones are possibly more in focus than the bird :)

Great photos, that's one for us to add to list. Thanks (y)

in case any one is worried FIL made it up the steps, but by the time we got to Sango Sands camp site I needed alcohol and forgot to take any photos, will try to remember in the morning, we are due one more fine day, then Armageddon

night all x

Just a thought David, would it not have been easier to have paid for them to go on a coach trip with Shearings around Scotland, I believe they cater for MIL & FIL :imoutahere:
