Hi going for a test ride on 125 scooter next week. We own a 821 burstner planning month long trips around Europe we'd like to hear peoples experiences of small towed car vs scooter in garage.

The instability is due to the reduced gyroscopic (stabilising) effect from the smaller wheels not relative weights and CoG.

Actually I think you will find it is a combination of those factors?. With side winds too having a far greater effect than on a "normal" motorcycle.

It’s a member of KTM Duke 790 on farcebook.
Not another thing I have to join, won't be telling John he doesn't do FB and I get fed up having to show him the stuff his family put on ;)
Some people don't thik things through or do enough research, wonder if he is trying for a wheelie in the motorhome?

Yes a combination, but it’s the gyroscopic effect that is the dominant contributor to stability.

If you’ve ever held a spinning bicycle wheel in your hands you’ll know powerful an effect it is. 😎

We've had various scooters and the larger wheel certainly makes them more stable, we're quite a fan of Syms and currently have a Sym Jet 14 (liquid cooled) which is great but you can get a standard 'air' cooled one which is a lot cheaper, our was a Cat D (or whatever it's called now!) with cosmetic damage and cost us a LOT less than it would normally. This is too big for a MH garage but there are lots of others out there that would fit.

One thing I would advise against though is buying new as they are not cheap and due to the relatively small use they tend to get a good second-hand one would be much more 'sensible' financially and then if for some reason you don't take to it you won't lose a lot when you sell it, you may not lose anything at all if you buy sensibly ... you might even get back more ... :giggle:

I agree with this i bought a 4 year old sh125 for £1800 and it had only done 174 miles from new and 1 owner its like brand new still

Our Suzuki address was £2,000 brand new and 0 per cent interest for 4 years. (3 year warranty) with 7,000 european miles on it guessing it is worth about £1200 tops now. There are definitely some bargains for buying them with ultra low mileage about
I made the last payment about a week ago and now owe nobody anything for house, motorhome, cars, motorbikes, sofas etc. for the first time since i was 18 and able to borrow money.

Just picked up the Yamaha Xmax 300. One, to run around on. Two to tow on my trailer. I have a Motolug that dismantles.
28hp so tons of go but way too big for a garage.
We have a Burgman 400 and use an Armitage side loading trailer. Plenty of power and storage space in the burg. Xmax is a good scooter...enjoy.
