We stayed at at Rodemack but I have already done a journal entry for this free Aire last year in a beaux village right on the Luxembourg border.
It is just a field but you're basically guaranteed a spot and the village has a microbrewery.

The town has 4 bars couple of boulangeries and spar type shops which are a pitching wedge away via a stream walk and a church with a crooked spire and no way in that we could find.
At time of arrival there is a fair in the main square.

For whatever reason we had never even heard of this place. Located it through camper contact and mediaeval town, 267 reviews, upgraded, hardstanding and free were the words that enticed us.

Wondering around just looking out for a gem of an Aire with a tv signal for the game later we saw a motorhome sign just prior to a bridge going over a canal. Been here before, but if you can't get a tv signal and it's the quarter finals of the euros and time is limiting it is a great place (especially if you win on penalties)

A town that is easily passable but we saw an Aire marked up and thought why not.

We followed signage rather than satnav and there are about 10-12 places possibly 15 if you're french.

Different tactics in France. Tranches of ham at 8 euros a kilo.3 slices into a baguette for lunch. We ve been able to afford steak and prawns and apart from last night all the Aires have been free.

Lidls and Auchan shop for wine for my intravenous drip. Tobacco gained in Luxembourg at 5.90 euros for 50 grams. Full up diesel at the Auchan and day at Gravelines before Tuesday morning return and work on Wednesday as I need to replan 5 weeks in Provence, next month, as we really missed the E bikes coming back from Salzburg. Motorbike ideal for Austria and getting to Bodensee but from then it is cycling country.

Currently working on a plan that includes Marseilles without getting near it or robbed. Mercantour region is our aim to start with as it has some decent motorbike roads but we will have to do them on E bikes.

This holiday comes to an end as we find ourselves at Gravelines waiting to go and get a drink at chaser local.
53 nights (both throunals) away.
Had to pay at least 5.40 euros per night whilst in Austria for tax and use campsites against our better nature.

The below is the costs excluding tinned herring, bargain Billa lunches and cheap beer. It includes everything like the bleeding Swiss vignette which we may not have needed. Everything translated to sterling.

412 pounds in diesel.
28.37 lpg
10 AdBlue
862 pounds in campsites and Aires 52 nights.
102 petrol
48.50 in tolls and vignette
290 ferry.
183(KC and a therme and Rhine Falls walk).

1935 pounds for everything
