Possibly 4 entries today as we now see why people come here.

It isn't just Lindau Bregenz and meersburg it is every little village in between and top notch cycling with dipping where you want.

Fruit orchards, vineyards and hop fields adorn the in between parts.
Really missed the meander around towns that we didn't see in Austria

Number 1

From our base near friedrichschafen it was counter clockwise for any Americans reading and anti clockwise that learnt English proper for us today.
The cunning plan was to just stop at places that looked interesting
We did try stopping at a... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/hagnau-bodensee.530/

It will be 4 entries as number 4 was going to be the stell ....and here it is

Stellplatz with room for about 15. Stayed here 3 nights at 18 euros a night before leccy and/or shower.
It's on a fruit farm but the shop is on the 30 which takes you to Ulm about 100 KMs away or Friedrichschafen about 7 flat KMs on a separated... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/rupert-lehle-stellplatz.531/

Technically number 2 but actually number 3 of the night so one more to come

Why oh why hasn't someone kicked me up the butt and told me to come here before.
What an absolute corker of a town
We stopped in dedicated motorbike parking outside of the town next to the Edeka where lunch was later purchased. We only stopped... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/meersburg-bodensee.532/

Last one of the night.
Probably last Bodensee one as try to fathom out a plan for tomorrow.

We re thinking lake as it will be 33 degrees but we want to do Rhine Falls but leave that for a colder wetter day (Sunday)

Another corker of a town, not quite up to Meersburg standard but really not far behind it at all.
We were lucky enough to go into the church for a full orchestra practising with an an incredible (to us) soprano for their debut performance... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/uberlingen-bodensee.533/

3 short entries today as we moved on to a corker Aire we spotted previously when cycling the Danube. 3 days here and we are next to a sports club showing the German game. We ve been there for the early game and likely to return

Number 1

We had no knowledge of what this was, and to be fair we still don't.

Do you ever get the urge to follow a brown sign just because. We did today. Not sure if it was the right thing to do or just the wrong day because numerous other people were... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/wutachschluct.534/

I agree with you entirely about Titisee. It's a tourist honey pot.
There are many far nicer places in Germany- Überlingen (and other places on the Bodensee) being among our favourites.

We went yesterday to Uberlingen and the other 5 places of northern Bodensee shore knock spots off Titisee for us.

No lidls, no Edeka no likey. 👍

3 entries today.

Danube sinkhole, Schaffhausen and Rhine Falls.

Photo heavy Rhine Falls first. The others will be done if as and when the football becomes frustrating

Have been meaning to do this for some time and from our base at Geisingen (separate entry tomorrow as the aire is a corker) I thought I had found a way to get there on the motorbike without having the hassle of a vignette.....wrong.

The road... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/rhine-falls.537/

Half time update. We aren't doing very well

We did the Rhine Falls and 3-4 KMs up river is this town.

Had never even heard of it before but we popped in and found a dedicated motorbike park next to the museum with a free family day and picturesque restaurant.

Wondered the pretty... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/schaffhausen.538/

And having survived the might of Slovakia by the skin of our teeth.

The Danube sinkhole after weeks of rain

Unbeknown to us a few years ago before we could afford E bikes we had an electric fold up tandem. Brilliant in thought process but absolutely useless if you wanted to cycle up the river bed of the Danube.
Guess what we did ! So we bought E bikes... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/danube-sinkhole.539/

First of 5 small ones today.

Others to follow are Villingen and Schwimmingden, The source of the Donau/Danube and Geisingen aire where I think there is a graffiti sticker to spot

From our base at Geisingen weather suggested a motorbike today

So we chose a route for which Bad Dürrheim happened to be in the way.

Proper graffiti along the brook appeared to be the highlight of this one road town but a couple of storks... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/bad-dürrheim.540/

Number 2

The disappointing 2nd half of the double barrelled town. Nowhere even close to the character of of the first half of the town which is about to follow.

When we looked at our map we were taken by 2 towns which are 7 KMs apart but they have double barrelled it to make one town.
There is some history to it and this town has a University and the alleged source of the Neckar and a park to celebrate... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/schwenningden.541/

Number 3 Villingen

And MR BLO gets a mention for a previous write up of the door porn

Thank you.

First part of Villingden-Schwenningden

What a complete contrast to the bland boring 2nd half. Huge main street pedestrianised onto cobbled with an out of walked area one way system which seems to take you miles out of the way but mh parking was... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/villingen.542/

And the stellplatz at Geisingen which we noted when we passed it a few years ago as a bit of a corker

What an aesthetically pleasing 38 site stellplatz within a 2 iron of the Danube and a putter away from the cycle route.

It gets cheaper the longer you stay culminating in 7 days for 45 euros which is a bargain around here.

It boasts only... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/geisingen-stellplatz.544/

3 possibly 4 today dependant upon doing the aire. Yes an Aire, we have popped into France as weather is not good so we thought we would do the route des cretes which I have fancied for a while. We have done the Verdon and cassis routes but never this one.

It was working out fine til the clouds lowered so much we had to get off the mountain.

First one

The route des cretes (this one) starts at Cernay and finishes at sainte Maria and various lengths suggested between 73 and 89 KMs.

It starts relatively steeply and curvy with some cobbled hairpins and turns with views across the Rhine valley... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/hartmannswillerkopf-route-des-cretes.545/

Number 4. The aire

Eguisheim was full and we have been there at least 3 times so looked for a freebie nearby.
This is about 7 KMs away. Behind the village hall just marked up as parking but reviews were very good.

It is just a car park however as you are halfway... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/voegtlinshoffen-aire.548/

Can't remember how many today. Probably 3.

Alsace wine route in the motorhome in some pretty appalling weather. No chance of motorbike or route des cretes.

Spent day hunting out freebies and wondering pretty towns

Weather was not good for motorbiking nor going up the route des cretes so we followed the Alsace wine route and would stop in villages that allowed us to park, for free, and wonder round them whilst planning, in our heads, a future cycling tour... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/châtenois-alsace-wine-route.549/

Number 3 of probable 4 and maybe another of the aire of choice for tonight.

Minding our own business meandering through the villages we passed the museum and shop to do with gingerbread men. We saw the huge parking available but the instantaneous decision was no.

As we exited we saw cart wheels either side of the road... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/gertwiller-alsace-wine-route.551/

Last one unless I do one for the aire just north of Strasbourg

We thought we would give this town a try as it had an Aire for 50 and was free.

It got to stage of nearly having to change socks and shoes it was so wet so upon arrival to see the park as you want, mixed parking, puddle ridden, soft loose grit... https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/obernai-alsace-wine-route.552/
