Said goodbye to another furry friend

Sorry to hear of this sad news but Shona will always be a big part of your memories.

So very sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl.
It seems to me that you Shona were honoured to have found & loved each other so much.
She will live in your heart, you will shed a tear & laugh about happy memories as we do about so many wonderful furries from our past.

What a beautiful colour :)

You have 12 years of memories to keep going over, photos to look at, reminders all over, especially when hoovering for a good few weeks yet :)

I know this because we are on week 8 since losing Lola, it is so hard, but you have absolutely done the right thing, not put her through any more suffering, you all knew it was time, Shona included probably

time will heal the grief then reward you with memories

So sorry to hear about Lola. Hope you manage to finish some of the walks in her honour.

True words about hoovering - she had been moulting so there's lots to clean up! Her coat was so soft, it was like stroking a rabbit.

Sorry to read of your loss.

Sadly, we lost our lovely Lurcher, Shona, this week.

She had not been good for quite a time - she became unwell at the Bath Racecourse Meet, last year. She was in and out of the vets all summer, for blood-tests, scans etc, and we thought it unlikely she would make Christmas, but she improved quite a lot.

Then one evening last week she collapsed and we took her to the vet, as it was clearly her time to go.

She had done quite well as she would have been 15 this month.

We were the second people to rescue her, 12 years ago. At that time she had never been on a lead, only once in a car, wasn't properly house trained, and was terrified of men. She got over most of her phobias, and ended up adoring me!

She was beautiful, and the gentlest creature one could imagine, but very prim and proper - the vet said that if she was a person, she would have worn a "twin-set and pearls"!

She will be sadly missed.

why do we put ourselves through this, could it be that which they give us before??:giggle::cry:

She was a beautiful dog, glad she found a wonderful new life with you, the pain you feel now reflects what a lovely friendship you shared. Don’t be too sad you did a very special thing. We have to accept their lives are usually much shorter than ours. Treasure the memories you have, Shona enriched your life.

@movan Sorry I missed acknowledging your post sooner. Everyone has been so kind and supportive.
