Hi everyone , considering buying a safefill refillable bottle. Your opinion,s on them please ie any problems with using them in Europe.

and the incredible difference in weight (lighter), when considering loading, outweighs any negatives
Alugas are a similar weight and you can install them properly with an external filler. Also they do both 11kg & 14kg bottles.
We have 2 x 14kg.

Definitely recommend Safefill, had them for 10 years, travelled all over Europe and never been unable to find somewhere to refill. Light and easy to remove if you want to refill by taking them in the car or for the barbecue at home, "Brilliant"

If I were doing this again for a motorhome, I woud go for Gaslow or similar with a fixed external fill point, However, we have a 11kg Safefill, which we used in our caravan, in our MH and it works fine. You can buy adapters so you can fill on the continent. I have an external fill point rugged up for our Safefill. I have to swap connectors over in the locker before I go for a fill - just to avoid the possible issues with people not understanding that Safefill is ok to re-fill.

I'm thinking of getting a safefill bottle,do they come ready to fill. Or do you have to buy an adaptor.

I believe first fill you don't fill them completely though but the web site will tell you for definite
We bought ours from Lodge Farm Leisure.
i had them fill them for me, mainly to show me the ropes, and there was no faffing about with adapters or part filling. Ours are 7.5kg cylinders, and the pump cuts off automatically when 80% full. On ours, that’s around 14 litres.
I’ve had them 12 months and at Morrison’s, the price has never changed in that time! We have 3 relatively close by, Pinchbeck is 79.9p/lt but the pumps are really slow, King’s Lynn is 79.7p/lt but the pump sometimes won’t run unless you’re squeezing the locking handle all the time as you fill, Wisbech is 79.9p/lt and no problem!
