Rust/Corrosion/Bubbling

I would really appreciate it if you would have a look at the attached photo and suggest what may have caused the problem. Is this common in this area?

Hi and welcome.
Looking at your picture, the bubbling is almost certainly not rust as the window frame is normally fabricated from aluminium which is rust free. However it can corrode and degrade, which is probably what's happening to yours. It could be caused by a breakdown in the surface decoration. I guess if you were really concerned it could be removed, a and prepared for refinishing through powder coating.

I have a Rapido Aclass that has the same window system but in grey, it is ten years old and is doing the same, I suspect some water/air has got under the paint and is oxidising.... Im not too worried about it but obviously if it starts to get any worse then I'll do something about it....

It is still all solid around the area and after ten years it isn't bad and not flaking at all...

@ufitsy No, not really, it`s mainly just the frames on the side cab windows. If it`s just aluminium oxidation, I`ll probably just ignore it !
The only other thing that bothers me is the lacquer coat on the front bumper bubbling and letting water get beneath it. I`ve looked into removing the bumper, which seems straight forward, and taking to a body shop but not got around to it yet !
