well I stand corrected, but then again a big difference in dust build up between where you live and where we and bob are in uk..

any weeds that grow in a tiny bit of dry dust are very quickly and easily removed pinching two fingers together., :)

Sorry Garry.................welcome back to UK and some gardening tips.

Sorry for the hijacking of your thread..

how is your brother Garry?

Well I suppose our gardens are about to run into some sun for the summer hopefully…☀️☀️☀️☀️

I get lots of surface weeds on the AstroTurf and I have slate in the front as well as more astroturf but good membranes but the odd weed peeps out around the edges. Usually the weeds die off if it doesn’t rain too much but they are easy to pluck out…☀️👍🏼😎

He’s having his first chemo tomorrow, they said if it shrinks the tumours he may have up to a year..🤞🏼 but they warned him it may be worse…🤔 he’s putting on a brave front though and sorting his affairs out…

He said if he feels ok next week after the first session he wants to drive down to me as he wants a last big drive in his car before he sells it…🤔☺️

fingers crossed then that the chemo shrinks the tumours, really hope it’s good news for him and that he’s well enough to drive down to yours and also that he gets to do more big drives in his car and doesn’t have to sell it yet..
positive thoughts sent to him from me..

That's sort of good news.
Think my brother left it to late to be helped.
Trust all goes well.

Best wishes to him Garry. I've found that mainly from Day 4 I've felt grotty until about a week before my next cycle. How often will he be having the chemo?

I do know but forgotten most of it… something about a 4 times in a four week cycle…🤷🏼‍♂️

If so that's a lot. I have one treatment in a 3 week cycle, I've had 5 of 6 and the side effects have got slightly worse each time but I've found them manageable.

If he hasn't already tell him to sign up to the Macmillan website and their forum, there's lots of helpful info on there and he can talk to others going through the same thing.

In the next month I will be investing in a lithium battery, probably a eco-worthy as I can’t afford anything else…😏
Any good?

Just looked at that.. I want Bluetooth and 280ah minimum but it’s a good price…🤔

Wow that quite intense. My wife had chemo every 3 weeks and that was quite debilitating.

I wish him well.

Wow, I hope he copes ok with it. They should give him anti-sickness & steroid tablets that will help him through.

Spoke to him today and he said he’s not feeling too bad but will see how long that lasts, every Friday he’s having it and said he was bored sitting there having it done….

He said if he’s still ok he may drive down to me on Tuesday/Wednesday if not I’m going up there…

I’ve been breaking the law for the last few months and as I always say I’m a bit of a rebel but I wouldn’t break this one and I think I did it unknowingly….🤔

My van road tax ran out December last year and as I was away from November I’m pretty sure I renewed it while away in fact I’m positive I did…🤔

Does Applying for it while abroad make any difference..? Perhaps it didn’t go through and I never noticed…🤔

Anyway amongst all the post on the door step was a couple of reminders which I expected and didn’t think anything of them as I new I’d renewed it…. However there was a thread about mots and I went on gov. To see my past mots and to my horror it said the van wasn’t taxed…🤷🏼‍♂️

So I renewed the tax there and then and got a foot note that the van wasn’t sorned and I might hear from dvla regarding it…

Being disabled I don’t pay for the road tax so there was no trying to avoid the cost of renewing it…

Anyone been in a similar situation and did they hear anything…??

I’m not exactly sure, I did reset my mileage but it reset itself halfway through for some reason…🤷🏼‍♂️
But I think it was around 4000 miles and I’ll add that it ran like a dream and no oils were added, the only thing I did was to give the air filter a clean when in Morocco and will replace it in the next few weeks…
Besides my new compressor fridge throwing a bit of a wobbly in the beginning which righted itself I had no other problems at all…🤔

Only once did I get battery anxiety with my two exide gels and that was early in the trip, when the weather was not good for a few weeks, at the end of the Morocco stint I was on €2 EHU I’m sure I wouldn’t have lasted as we were cooking with electric wasn’t moving and it was cloudy for some time.

The new maxxis all season tyres I put on a few months before were excellent, quiet and confident and look to be wearing well.
My computer for around 2k since it’s own reset tells me I got just over 33mpg which I think is pretty good for a fully laden 3ltr…

In the next month I will be investing in a lithium battery, probably a eco-worthy as I can’t afford anything else…😏

Ohh I forgot… I’ve got to order some new sliding door rollers as I bent the others, my own stupid fault…😒

I found a picture of my mileage when I replaced the starter motor and work out how many miles I did, so the new figure is just over 5,200 miles where done start to finish…..

I also stated no problems… forgot about the starter too….🤔😆🤣

I’m losing the plot…🤪🤪

Tell him to take some activities. I take my phone obviously and listen to Spotify, my tablet so I can watch some TV or catch up, with earphones, and some crochet (I don't know if your brother crochets :giggler: ). He could take a book or magazine. I'm there for about 5.5 hours so have to have something to occupy myself.

St Helier hospital Sutton

Some of you may know my brother is not good from pancreatic cancer, after he’s chemo on Friday he has now been taken to this hospital with sepsis.

I hope to drive up on Thursday 17th from Cornwall and need somewhere to park for the night Thursday and possibly Friday.

If you live around here and have room on the drive for a 6mtr ducato or if you know of anywhere to park up for the night I’d be very grateful..

Thanks.
