Run to the sun….

For someone who told me that he wasn't going to write a thread, or maybe a small one!!! One of the many great threads I have read and thank you.
Best of luck with everything.

It was all down to the likes and support I received Chris… it kept me going..🍻

It feels like I was never away but I seemed to have missed bad weather but this IS Cornwall and I’m sure it will remind soon…😆🤣
I have lots of jobs to do including nearly 6 months of cat mess as they love my artificial grass but they do keep my car and sheds mouse free…😏

My Moroccan plants are lapping it up…☀️☀️

I used to have hanging baskets in my porch which took a lot of looking after. Now I have artificial plants in the baskets which are changed with the seasons. They take no looking after and many people don't realise they are fake until they touch them!!

Having spent the morning trimming the hedge along the side of our property, I've managed about half of it and filled the garden bin which isn't due for emptying until next week. I'm an astroturf and green concrete man at heart. OH is the horticulturist. She grows stuff and I spend my time cutting it all back again.

Thank you for sharing your adventures.
How many miles did you do since leaving home?

I’m not exactly sure, I did reset my mileage but it reset itself halfway through for some reason…🤷🏼‍♂️
But I think it was around 4000 miles and I’ll add that it ran like a dream and no oils were added, the only thing I did was to give the air filter a clean when in Morocco and will replace it in the next few weeks…
Besides my new compressor fridge throwing a bit of a wobbly in the beginning which righted itself I had no other problems at all…🤔

Only once did I get battery anxiety with my two exide gels and that was early in the trip, when the weather was not good for a few weeks, at the end of the Morocco stint I was on €2 EHU I’m sure I wouldn’t have lasted as we were cooking with electric wasn’t moving and it was cloudy for some time.

The new maxxis all season tyres I put on a few months before were excellent, quiet and confident and look to be wearing well.
My computer for around 2k since it’s own reset tells me I got just over 33mpg which I think is pretty good for a fully laden 3ltr…

In the next month I will be investing in a lithium battery, probably a eco-worthy as I can’t afford anything else…😏

Ohh I forgot… I’ve got to order some new sliding door rollers as I bent the others, my own stupid fault…😒

You had a fantastic trip didn’t you Smiffy, you and Cintia, nice to be home but I bet you want to be off again soon!

Only so I don’t have to empty the van, how on earth does so much fit in a van…🤷🏼‍♂️

Now it’ll need to be filled again to go anywhere…😆😳

But you have to treat the decking unless it's the plastic stuff?
Tanalised timber, with annual spray of Wet & Forget will see us out. The last deck lasted for 23 years with nothing done to it. The plastic decking splits around the screws in short time, hence we went with tanalised timber built like a proverbial brick sh1thouse, not thin DIY warehouse stuff, with plenty of separation for air flow.

As the old adage goes buy quality, pay once.

but none if a weed suppressant membrane underneath.. :)
I was waiting for that one !
Membranes do vary in quality and longevity ….
