I was going to going to disagree about a 'hungry Brazilian ' then I thought, BEHAVE! 😄

We waved but you didn't see us outside a cafe in Banana town as you drove through.

Another town where just about everything was open.

A longish drive today with some great scenery again, the thing that keeps coming to me is this flood that they had last September, it must have been huge as we kept seeing the damage it’s caused for miles and miles it must have been horrific at the time. The road takes you along the basin of a big long valley and going by the debris it must have covered most of it at one time, the rocks that it’s pushed down the mountains are huge, there must have been rivers appear where none were for centuries.
Even villages on hills fared no better as it looks like it just wash some away.. I can’t imagine how much it must have rained to do all this damage…

We came across this French guy and stopped to see what help we could give, he was ok and said he stopped to take a picture and forgot the handbrake 😱 he said recovery was estimated at 4hrs from zagora but I don’t think they’ll be able to tow it out as when driving forward it was up and over some big rocks. We made sure he had plenty of water and food.. poor sod will probably have that same discussion every time a car goes past and stops to see if he ok…

I did say you can’t park there mate but it was lost in translation…🤐

Some of the worst rain we have ever seen was in Morocco. i was on a motorbike trip in Sept 2017 with a couple of mates and had a few days stopover in Merzouga. On the second night we were having our evening meal on the patio of the Auberge watching a fantastic lightning show over the sand dunes for a good hour. All of a sudden the staff came running out and started packing up the tables. Within a few seconds we were hit with gale force winds an torrential rain. The thunder & lightning was constant all night along with the driving rain. In the morning the whole area was flooded. We set off for Ouarzazate two days after the storm with a lot of the main roads in the area still covered in thick sloppy mud & many of the wadis still flooding with water flowing over the top of the bridges. Many of the villages on the route had been badly damaged by the rain/ floods. Made for an interesting ride that day.
