Run to the sun….

Hopefully she's getting well fed and watered Garry, with all them pups

She was Paul, she even turned her nose up at a bit of meat I offered..☺️

Staff at the restaurant had a big bowl of water out…
Most of the time the pups were just play fighting each other, they got a lot of attention….🤗

Some big hotels going up along here…

Hi guys & Thank you so much for doing this thread.😘😘
We have thought of going many times but not had the (courage?) & thought it may have been a step too far given my wife’s mobility issues.
However I think next Jan we will give it a go, mobility scooter et all. She is so looking forward to exploring a new country. It sounds like just our kind of place, warts and all.
Probably use campsites mostly (for charging buggy) & will go back through the thread to get locations. She loves doing all the planning & I just drive the old bus 😊.

Safe travels & happy days to you both.

The OP Just smiffy seems to have managed very well and provided another inspirational thread while he's doing it.

There seem quite a few people here with varying abilities and while the Moroccan standard of infrastructure is a little below European levels they have that aptitude to helping each other that must make things easier.

I would make sure you invest in a voltage stabiliser though as voltage levels can vary dramatically.

All these pics look fantastic and interesting……but we still won’t be going to Morocco any time soon!
Just don’t fancy the place and would get upset about the dogs!
Having said that don’t stop posting the pics, the above is my personal view.

This thread and a another long thread last year has convinced me i no longer want to go.
I see a lot of the East coast of the UAE 30/40 years ago for it to appeal to me.
Been very grateful to threads like this being honest and factual.
Will continue to look.

I totally get why people may not fancy Morocco but for us personally it's fantastic, when we compare the pros & cons of sitting the winter out at home in Donegal where I can honestly say it has either rained or snowed and been bitterly cold & dark every single day since we left 1st week of January, or come down to Morocco and spend the entire 3 months in warm glorious sunshine, with very friendly people, everything is as cheap as chips and the variety of scenery & landscapes from quiet seaside villages, to bustling cities, mountain ranges & deserts for us it's just a no brainer
Of course it has its flaws but so has everywhere including UK & Ireland but in Morocco the good massively outweighs the bad & long may we continue to visit

Fully agree, but we don't all sit at home in the freezing cold for the whole of the winter, we do go to warmer climes to see the desert and outback etc etc.
I know you do Bob I've seen your pics from your travels but I've developed an awful fear of flying from about 20 years back and have tried everything to shift it but to no avail, I would sail anywhere in any conditions and drive to the other side of the world if countries & politics allowed it but as for flying..... 🤯 lol

Must admit I don't like the cold as much as I used to but there is nothing to stop you putting more clothes on and a good log fire, and it makes the sun seem better when it does come back, in my view I would just hate to be in hot sun all day everyday, it would drive me crazy.
We usually fly to Portugal or Italy sometime during the year but a fortnight of solid sun soon gets me wanting some cool and rain.

Morocco is as easy or as hard as you want it to be, it can be a luxurious campsite for a long warm winter just taking it easy and is not expensive or it can be an adventure and there’s plenty to get if you go looking for it.

It is difficult in the wheelchair I won’t deny that but in an electric buggy it would be easier then pushing..😆

I’ve been taking it relatively easy for the last couple of months and it will be this coming month that the adventure will begin…

Stay tuned folks…☀️😎

Really enjoy your thread Gary. Really impressed with the way you get on with life while others who have nothing to moan about always moan and think life should revolve around them. Keep it up mate, you got it right. We’re all here once. Enjoy it. 👍

This is a great reference thread for would-be Moroccan travellers as well as armchair visitors! I’m certainly really enjoying it and can’t wait to retire and head over!

I cannot bear hot sun every day either and I think the sand and no grass would do me in. Today the sun has come out here and the snowdrops, crocuses and daffs are in flower. Time for a potter in the garden to cut back the hydrangeas and roses.
Already getting afraid that we will find southern Spain too hot in April and might have to stay north.
Around 20 ° is good for me.
