The upholstery guy came and collected some cushions today so I hope he brings back the ones we sleep on tonight otherwise it’s going to be uncomfortable…
Here’s pictures of before, now they don’t look bad but they have a thick ply board on the back which makes them heavy the material is quite thick and the piping is quite large which you can feel while sleeping… I’m hoping the new ones will be lighter without the board and the colour I’ve picked will go with the rest of the van and hopefully freshen it all up…☺️

Loving the posts , Happy days
It’s so good to see the negative atmosphere has now turned into a vibrant positive one, I’m not an envious person but I wish I was there with you lot 😊
My wife’s OCD would struggle with the dust , she would just use it as an excuse to drink more wine 😁

Got three cushions back and without the board on the back they are so much lighter, zip on covers too so can take off and wash if necessary, material is softer and sewing quality is good… none getting done tomorrow as Sunday off… hopefully all finished Monday or Tuesday…☺️

Getting a few spits of rain this evening as it’s been overcast some of the day and because of the cloud cover it’s bloody hot…🥵
Are you sure it's not the sprinklers old bean? You being up the posh side of the campsite and all that.... 🤔

Very very windy in Sidi Ouassay yesterday, like fasten the hatches windy  trouble is we're right on the beach so sand in all sorts of places. Going to get the fridge vents off shortly then get the airline out.

Was quite windy here too Jon but not as exposed as you were… back to normal today though..☀️☀️😎

Right.. upholstery all done and test driven last night…😴

Quality… ok to good, material is lined and sewing work is very good in my opinion.
The cushions are now very much lighter in weight as the old ones had 15mm ply on the back, they are softer with the new forgiving material and I think they colour fits in better. Now have zips so easily removed for cleaning and didn't have that before.

I could have and would have went for a two tone pattern but that would have been a bit more money. Slept on them last night and it was much softer so overall very happy…☺️

And all this for £292…😱👍🏼

Good morning from a sunny Cornwall, you should’ve had a spare set made at that price so you had the abilities to swap it over. They look good. I hope they wear as well as you expect. I expect a second set made at the same time would not have been quite the same price as they would’ve cut them out at the same time.

To be honest, you are far better off than there in Morocco as the weather has been so horrible and dark as it always is this time of year. Carry on enjoying it.

Great to read such a positive 'thread'
And much less 'kneedling' than other 'sew and sews'

Looks good. What was the purpose of the previous plywood backing?

No idea, as they sat on solid bases or the side seats are slated, and why the ply was so thick was overkill and made them heavy.
So much easier making and putting the bed away now… anything to make my life easier it’s good with me…😌
