THURSDAY ... we can arrive the site is open

FRIDAY ... THE ROYAL WEDDING ... given that a lot of us will be travelling on this day due to work etc not a lot is planned. Just getting together as we arrive and chatting, catching up and informal mixing. We suspect that a number of us will be watching the event (or having to work) and will be travelling on this day! the local village Alcester is having a community street party in the High Street for all comers so that may be a 'place to go' other than that a general greet and meet ...
Please try and give everyone a mad clue or comment about yourselves as an opener for those that have yet to meet some of us......
(I had my right foot run over by James Hunt in 1977 when he was at the grand prix at Silverstone)
(Cheyne met Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards)

SATURDAY ... OUR DAY! ...
plans so far include:
The Frey (Fray) Bentos; Princes; Casserole ... tinned pie flinging, tossing, throwing competition!
Mr POTATO HEAD (Mrs, Ms or any other non gender specific) character competition ... potatoes will be provided to all units attending
STREET PARTY .. as only funsters know how! all of us joining in with a 'jacobs table' or whatever putting food out for a good old knees up get together.. all are requested to put something out for eats as we did back in the days of the Jubilee etc.
FUNSTERS OLYMPICS .... wait and see!!! but a variety of events to suit all ages and abilities

SUNDAY
suit yourself day ... veg out and get over the riggers of yesterday... mutter we was robbed if the wrong side won! :o) a list of local places of interest available if wanted and cheap tickets to Ragley Hall. local garden centre has a mini train thing and rescue wildlife centre and shakespeare!!! etc ....evening ... more general chatting etc

MONDAY
the day we all have to face reality and go home (or not)

We hope this gives an opener for a programme for the days ... please let us know if you have any ideas for games for the Olympics

There will be a generator charged up for a couple of hours each day for anyone that needs to charge phones or top up batteries etc

Suggestions and questions please let us know ... we will do our best

Wedding weekend meet

Have looked at the attached link and it shows a 'site' for 5 vans
This is a Caravan Club Certificated Location that accepts just five caravans or motorhomes
Is this the right site?? By those that have accepted I count 14 or so, can they take us??
When can we, or should we arrive?

yes the site at the front is a CL and the five units etc is applicable but ONLY for the site

We have got the rally field adjoining the farm and can have more units as we have exemption from those rules using the FUNSTERS :thumb: club rally etc.... technical stuff!

Arrival is Thursday afternoon onwards .... departure is Monday ... any longer is by arrangement with the owner on the CL and can be booked when on site if possible (if he has space for the Monday on)

Cheyne and I (or any combination of that) will be on site from the Thursday

Cycle routes

We have just been asked in Chat about cycling to Stratford .... not something I would recommend using the A46 as there is quite a steep hill followed by a long dragging hill; the road has a 60mph restriction and a few notorious junctions for accidents.
I have now found the cycle route map to get into Stratford without using the A46.
Take the exit from the campsite and travel about 150 yds to the junction turn right and once on that road there is relatively little traffic and some lovely lanes and villages to cycle through... wiers and wildlife abound along with some interesting buildings.
A map of routes Link Removed.
Hope this helps

SATURDAY STREET PARTY

Please could all of us bring some party type food so that we can put it all together and have fun in the old fashioned way of a street party?

like what it was when i was a kid and we had lead based paints and no safety hats and trees were an adventure to climb; we could go out on our bikes for a day with no more than a glass bottle of pop, packet of crisps and dodgy squashed sandwich and yet we are all still here!

Hi
my google map shows two Stratford roads--------is it safe to assume we are aiming for the A46 one ??? or is it the little back road ??
Looking forward to it -------trying to find a FB pie to practise--:thumb::thumb:

It is indeed the A46 that you will be requiring.

Out of Stratford to Alcester, If you get to the round-a-bout with a bp service station then you have gone too far.
Woodedge is situated at the end of a long laybye.
Please do not use the drive to Woodedge, this is the main campsite entrance, and once in it dos get a little tight. Look out for the flags at the next entrance.:thumb:
See you all soon.

If you can and it's not too much trouble, it might be an idea to get a few for others that might not have been able to get them.

See you soon.

Cheyne what time Thursday can we arrive until? will it be ok between 9-10 pm?

If you give us a call just before arrival that wont be a problem... if it is going to be after 10pm please let us know. We have the field to ourselves so wont upset anyone else... one of us will stand out on road to greet you in if it is dark.
