Route and campsites for Lake Bled trip

Contemplating a trip to Lake Bled May/June. Any recommendations for route and campsites when we get to Lake Bled. SHMBO always requires a reasonably comfortable site rather than an aire. Any advice gratefully received

I'm so impressed when people come on here that have driven to the back of beyond and know every kin village, almost every street, and the names of the people living in them...............................show offs

We take plenty of pictures so can look back and see on them where they were taken,,,,simples

When I’m away I cannot remember where I have been, gone or at most of the time

We often look at pictures we have taken and wonder where the flip was that.

On an iPhone it should show the location as you scroll through your photos or click on information.
Assume other phones are the same just a matter of making sure the location is turned on
I use mine a lot for reference.

I know the info is available, but I like the date and place actually on the photo, so I know straight away. Can never understand why Apple photos doesn’t do that?

We often look at pictures we have taken and wonder where the flip was that.

On Android, just scroll up on any photos you've taken with your phone, and all info including location (with a link to Google Maps) is displayed.

Just looked on mine. Gives me a date and co-ordinates but no name of place. No way am i messing about putting co ordinates in (even if i knew where to put them) to find the place.
But interesting.

Just looked on mine. Gives me a date and co-ordinates but no name of place. No way am i messing about putting co ordinates in (even if i knew where to put them) to find the place.
But interesting.

Probably if you click on the map it will show you a place name

Would definitely recommend lake Bohinj as well ,nice site at far end from Bled. Short walk to cable car to top of mountain nearby for great views. Also as mentioned Vintgar gorge ,north of lake bled. Be aware of low bridge on route to gorge though ,if I remember rightly. Left van and walked from the bridge.

We went up in the car so no issues. Van was left on site.

We stopped there on the way to Bled - some great cycling along river side.
From there only 2 hours to Bled - but also factor in getting Dar-S if >3.5t for tunnel and motorway.

The motorway is excellent and signs are also in English:-
"This is not a dance floor - keep your distance"
"Angry driving gives you wrinkles"

We took Harwich Hook of Holland overnight
2 nights by Moselle
1 night Bad Windheim stellplatz
2 nights Zugspitze camp Garmisch
2 nights Alpencamp
then Lake Bled before Venice

Croatia afterwards.

Lake Bled is great for kayaking, campsite on edge of lake itself is excellent. Bohinj is not as good, campsite was quite expensive. Enjoy
