I'm driving through Rouen in my 2004 motor home on the A150 heading south on the 2nd January.
I've only just found out about the CRIT' AIR sticker. How can I cover myself.

I suppose the simplest solution take a different route. Unless you need to go through Rouen that’s what I would do

Maybe have a read here..

Depending on where you are heading after Rouen I thought there was a route through as long as you dont deviate.

It’s quite easy to get the CRIT air sticker

It takes a few weeks to get the actual sticker but you apply for it online and get an email back with a temporary “sticker” that you can print off and put on your windscreen inside.

Alternatively, just avoid going through the zone.

Wont get one in the post but once accepted online you are covered, by the way all our stickers have arrived in less than a week/

In this thread, #10,...

Nanniemate put a link in for what appears to be a 24hour, (midnight to midnight) long pass to travel through Rouen.
I don't know if it applies to French Nationals only?

Google Translate gives this translation of the page....

General principle

The ZFE-m Pass authorizes vehicles affected by the restrictions to drive and park in the ZFE-m for a maximum of 24 days (from midnight to midnight) per calendar year (from January 1 to December 31) regardless of the reason: short stay, travel, medical appointment, crossing the zone, etc.

Who can benefit from it?

Everyone can benefit from the ZFE-m 24 pass:

  • individuals as well as professionals, regardless of their place of residence or activities,
  • all types of vehicles: cars, light commercial vehicles, buses, coaches, heavy goods vehicles, two-wheelers, motorized tricycles or quadricycles,
  • for occasional trips without having to specify a reason for using the vehicle.

When to ask?

The request must be made at the latest the day before the planned trip only via this form

Please note:
once the request has been validated, you will no longer be able to modify or delete it.

What information is requested?

When making the first request , you will need to indicate your vehicle registration, the vehicle identification number (field E of the registration certificate), the desired date for the PASS ZFE-m 24h and attach a copy of the registration certificate.

For the following dates , it will be sufficient to make a new request by providing the vehicle registration and the vehicle identification number without submitting a copy of the registration certificate.

And then?

A confirmation of receipt of the request will be sent to you by email with authorization to travel.

The Pass is only valid on the day indicated. Outside of the days of use of the Pass, Crit'Air 4, 5 and unclassified vehicles cannot access the public domain (parking and traffic).

Except for so-called unclassified vehicles, the Crit'Air sticker must be affixed to the vehicle.

In the event of a check by the police, you will have to present this proof.

when parking on public property, the document must be placed in a visible place on the dashboard of the vehicle.

The decree relating to the implementation of the Low Emissions Zone for mobility can be viewed online here

I've read through this a few times and looks to me that it may cover UK MHs passing through but we're on holiday without the MH so dont have the log book to copy to try a specimen booking

I'd recommend everyone applies for:
A Crit'Air sticker here for France
A Umwelt sticker for Germany here

Even if you have no intention of driving to France or Germany as
It will take you 10 mils to fill in the forms.
It only costs few quid
The stickers last the life of the windscreen
They take a couple of weeks to arrive in the post.
You never have to worry again!

I'd also recommend that you apply for a Dart Charge to pay the toll for the Dartford Tunnel/Bridge, even if you only might cross it once in 5 years.
Set up the account, add the number plates of every vehicle in the wider family.
Your daughters husband may end up owning you £2.50, but that is a lot less than the grief caused by not paying it as you went on holiday and came back to all sorts of late payment penalty brown envelopes.

if you do apply for a crit aire on line it might help you know that;
you can reduce the size of the file you attach your v5 with if you
scan it rather than photograph or
screen shot a photo of the v5.
The website has a file size restriction.
Good luck
Chris

Hi there, just to say even with a crit Air you still would not be able to drive through rouen with a 2004 van.All the best.

You don’t need a Crit Air you just need to register the MH for the ULEZ zone exemption. Then you are good to go, you can do this for up to 24 days a year.

How can a 2004 Motorhome pass a crit air
A Crit Air is purely a classification for any age of Motorhome. Your classification entitles you to transit zones or not. In my case my Crit Air classification does not give me the right to transit Rouen. However the exemption process allows me to have an exemption for up to 24 days each year for my non-compliant Motorhome.

If worried avoid Rouen...we always deviate at Neufatchel and head to Dreux...BUSBY

Just got my emailed certificate. This is usable till your posted one arrives. For me it was 24 hrs from ordering. 4.91 Euro's. I had to renew mine due to a registration number change.Cost less than half a trip into the smoke, and last for the life of the van.
I'm just going to stamp on my fingers to stop me adding a PS message to the above ;) .
Mike.
