Hi guys, any owners got any feedback on how cold it might get in a van at night - on a really cold night, what'sit like?

Do you feel cold?
What wouldhappen if the heating stopped working during a cold spell etc - would a decent sleeping bag be enough or would you need to get things fixed asap??

Thx, totally ignorant, as usual

Our first van, Autosleeper Duetto was not very well insulated but we did have some cold nights in it. The only problem with freezing was along side a river in Norfolk over Easter. The water pump was mounted against the van wall. When we found ice in the shower water we knew we have problems. The filter on the pump was split and full of ice.
We were snug and warm with a mattress. topper with a sleeping bag on top and a thick duvet. Muttly must have been cold because he crawled alongside management in the night. We never leave the heating on overnight.
The Rienza we have now is much better in the cold but the bedding is the same. The main difference is the heater is much more efficient and quicker to warm up in the mornings. Also a heated wash room is so nice to use being next to the heater and first to warm up. I can turn the heater on without leaving the duvet.
We have been out all year even through several storms like the minI beast from the east and Dennis.

Camped regularly in Antarctica; -30c or so. No heating just a good sleeping bag. Never felt cold in the tent. That being said, in the van there is a huge vertical difference in temperature so I wear warm fluffy slippers.
