Hello Funsters. Having just washed the roof of the van, not a quick easy job as we all know, after letting it dry off a bit in the sun, would you use a roof covering for the winter months when not in use ?

Only a 'tent' covering.
Several available on line, and you may be able to find an Army Surplus one as they use them for workshops.

They are big, and are in effect semi permanent installations.

I've looked into 'shower cap' type of covers and the general recommendation is not to do it.
Hence this winter I have moved where I have stored my van so as not to be near trees and I'll see what colour the roof is come next spring!

Must be breathable or it encourages algi/mold growth.
Plus, if you have solar etc the corners need padding as they will rub holes in the cover due to wind movement.

Wet and forget. Applied either to a clean roof or dirty keeps ours free of any green. Needs odd swill but no effort required.
