A bit disappointed with the dealer when I discovered that although the van had been washed and valeted on collection, they had not cleaned the roof!
Any suggestions (as long as it does not include power-washing) for removing the black and green mould?

Thanks,

Do mine early doors in the morning while the air is still dampish extendable brush with diluted elbow grease then rinse off with a good wash and wax

There was a thread on here about cleaning the roof, it was suggested you use a product called Wet and Forget, as mine was really dirty I gave a clean with the telescopic hose brush and then once dry spayed the roof with said solution, so far it seems to be working, due for another dose once spring is here, as an experiment I also did the house bay window top as being north facing always gets covered in moss and algae and it seems to be keeping it at bay (no pun intended )

Have a holiday up at our place, we have a working platform type of thing, bought at an auction, ex-warehouse, and ideal for that sort of work.

It still needs some elbow grease though!

To start with, take it back to the dealer and ask them to do a complete job not half a job.
That's what I should have done, but as I was driving away I saw one of the employees power-washing the roof of another mh.
I don't want anyone going anywhere near the roof of my van with one of those.

Seen worse, im 71, recent hip op that roof wouldent phase me, couple of hours work, maybe 2 seasons out of it. No walking on roof, just long arms and cleanser, brush of your choice.

I sent a small child out a roof light with a brush and bucket tried an innovative approach to roof cleaning, and although the child highly qualified assistant was very enthusiastic, they made more mess than clean and I had another go with a hosepipe and a long armed brush from your nearest German discount supermarket and using a detergent bleach solution and a bit of Jif that did well. Van had then to be rinsed with a bucket while parked at an angle to let the roof drain properly. Given its age, I'm not concerned about preserving paint condition as it'll need done again a lot sooner than any new roof.

My highly qualified assistant noticed a bit of mildew on the bumpers recently and suggested we get the brushes out again but I think his mum trade union doesn't permit cold weather work.
