Hi all, we are planning a road trip from East Anglia to Banchory in Scotland to visit relatives. Can anybody recommend some good points of interest en-route. This trip will be about a 2 week round trip and as long as we stay in Scotland for a week or so nothing else really matters time wise. Would really appreciate any good locations to visit and any tips. Many thanks in advance

If you've never been to Edinburgh then I would suggest a stop off there. We live nearby and never tire of the many interesting attractions to see. There's a site on the bus route at Roslin and a Caravan Club site a bit nearer the city. Both are on a good bus route with all day tickets only costing about £4.
Enjoy.

£10 a night at the Falkirk Wheel is good value.
See Sandra's @irnbru rallies that have been held there for the last couple of years
Price has gone up to £15 per night. Fresh water and a nearby black waste and free showers. A great site to see if you haven't been there.

We did a tour of Scotland in September and must say that the West coast was much more interesting than the East coast although Arbroath was quite nice. (Carnoustie was a dump!) Elgin's nice, Mull was quite boring. Depends what floats your boat, I suppose.

We loved our overnight at the Falkirk Wheel :-)

These sound like great ideas and tips, will certainly take them into account when planning our trip. We really don't want to miss out on some real lovely places. Thank you everyone

I'm looking for the same thing. A 2 week trip round the most scenic places in Sotland, with the best value camp sites.
