Road to retirement

As well travelled motorhomers of 15 years with most 20+ countries under our belts I would have the temerity to offer two pieces of advice:

1 Join Motorhomefun. Apart from all the good advice and repartee it’s the best insurance you will ever get - sound advice from people who’ve been there and done it will get you through any problems you may have (and life will give you some problems, ‘cause it does)
2 When the **** happens, take a deep breath and make a cup of tea. Then have a clear head to think and advice from all the lovely people here and your problems will get solved.
(It may cost you some money you didn’t want to spend but, hey ho, that’s life - and at least you’ll know what to spend it on with all the help you’ll get here.)

Re:corkscrews. Don't despair. You can push the cork into the bottle with a strong finger, or a knife handle. Of course you then need to drink the whole bottle

I was always told it was rude not to finish the bottle once open.

Enjoy your retirement and all the joy these journeys will bring .We certainly have Join up with a subscription the best money you can spend. Was a “lurker” for a while watching the subjects posted and was on a van specific Facebook group ( that had some average advice and a host of negative vibes ) Have found the opposite on this great forum , solid advice , great stories of travels and places to visit from a whole host of people with true motorhoming experience and best of all some tongue in cheek fun to brighten your day . Join up and join in to both comment and add your experience as it builds to help others. Welcome !!

A very warm welcome….we are into a Covid strewn 3rd year of motorhoming retirement. It took ma a while to adjust but stick with it. Typing this currently in 26c sunshine in a beautiful spot in Portugal and loving life.

We have met some fantastic people from all walks of life and nationalities and very few not so nice.

The advice and support from this forum has been invaluable and well worth subscribing and has helped us avoid many common mistakes and allowed us to invent a whole new set for ourself.

As others have said, best to sign up on here for all the invaluable help and advice that's available.

In addition to loads of FUN, it's like having an additional breakdown service if you run in to trouble on your travels, especially when abroad. It's a lively place and requests for assistance receive the fast responses.

Probably find that the batteries are flat in all 3..
