Has anyone of these cameras by any chance? Do you like it? Any regrets for not getting the GR III? I'd welcome your thoughts, even if you don't have the camera!

I don't use my Fuji kit as much as I should so thinking of getting a simple point and shoot.

Canon G5X mkII bought. Decided a bit of zoom was desirable.

Long time
Nowt wrong with point & shoot!
Used to have SLR & lots of lenses, then went digital, found I wasn’t using it, got a Canon point & shoot, easier, simpler and good zoom.

Hi Shrimp I am like yourself. I have a mirrorless camera and all the lens and its become too heavy for me these days. It has to go, so a wee point and shoot it is. I did like the simplicity of the Ricoh and may well take a close look at one, one day.

All the best.

Modern smart phone camera's are amazing these days. My new phone has a choice of 4 lenses and I need nothing better these days.

Plus It's alway the picture not the quality that's more important

I thought about buying a new iPhone, it's a good solution.

Point and shoot ,16megspixel , 16xOptical zoom, SONY CYBERSHOT DSC-HX9V
The Sony HX9V is easily slipped in a pocket, it's an old model now and can be bought used for £30-50!!

No need to spend loads of dosh on the latest technology and highest pixel count, get a used .. in good condition/working order.

For low light, long distance it is not very good, groups and people the flash turns out accurate colours, quality images.

In sunlight outdoors, I was amazed at the 16 optical zoom results.

Here are sample pics using the same viewpoint and the zoom target is red circled.

I have used URL Links you can pixel peep the quality of the zoom pictures.

This is an old thread, but is very pertinent to my recent experience.

I have a Ricoh GR lll and have always found it to be really excellent. However, I took it to Spain and Portugal recently as my main camera, and struggled with it. I couldn’t see the screen in the bright light so I was frequently taking photos without being able to compose properly.

The other disappointment was that the exposure meter couldn’t cope with the bright sun. I was frequently having to add at least +1ev exposure compensation to every shot, but couldn’t see the preview image on the screen to judge how much compensation was required. This resulted in many under exposed images which needed to be rescued in post.

I am surprised how often I have to add exposure compensation even in much lower dynamic range situations. My Nikon Z6 handles contrasty scenes far better, and will be what I use mostly from now on, even with its bigger size and weight.

Yes most defintely agree about the bright sunshine making the rear LCD screen difficult to use.

I found an eBay - electronic viewfinder that fits onto the flash hotshoe a must and looking through that somehow gets you more into the shot.

Oh and saw the fuji camera designer/inventor and he held his left eye to the left sided viewfinder ..what a difference this makes, and if your viewfinder is right side use your right eye, it keeps the central lens in line with your nose ..composed as your eyes see .

Obviously camera designs all differ. So this may not be suitable for all.
