Revolut cash withdrawal s Spain

We needed cash on a few occasions in Portugal as they wouldn’t take any of my many cards, and also yesterday on our return to Spain, the campsite in the middle of nowhere didn’t take cards.

I’ve found that ATMs in Portugal won’t accept my Monzo card, but will accept my Revolut card.

we are rapidly heading towards being a cashless society which is good news for the banks so they will make it expensive to use cash
But here were we have economies valued at around 40 % of the actual economy running side by side with the actual economy cash is king. :dance2:Whilst the Germans rarely use cards & the euro is top dog nothing will change .
**Daughter gave me a book for Birthday " The End of Money" Pity there are 26 in front to read first:laughing:

I found two more free ones in Jerez!

Targobank
Deutsche Bank

Just to confirm used Ibercaja today in Mojacar Revolut & Clarity cards no ATM fees

I think this is where Caxton beats Revolut. No limit on amount of cash you withdraw providing you don't exceed the daily limit, somewhere around 300-400 Euros and great for using as a debit card in shops etc.

Not had a problem using Revolut card for anything Phil.
Caxton Euro rate €1.15
Revolut. .€1.176
Or €2.6 per hundred better off

Can you expand on that please . When withdrawing cash it asks accept exchange rate so if you say no does that not mean the transaction is cancelled and you get nothing ?
If you say no, it gives you the cash. The transaction goes through to your bank in euro's and they decide the exchange rate, usually better than foreign bank but wise to check your banks charges before using the card abroad.

Hi Chef! Yes agree with that exchange rate. I might get it and keep both !.

Banco Sabadell charged my friend the other week 1.9 euros to draw out 200 euros. He was happy enough to pay that.

I've never heard of a revolut card before this thread so I looked into it and downloaded the app, filled in all my details and am now at the stage of putting money into an account. My question is before putting any money in how do I get an actual card? Thanks for the info!

You should be able to order one on the app..

I think you have to deposit some money before it will allow you to order a card.

My card came automatically after I deposited money. If the rate is good now, add a euro wallet (using the app) and transfer some money to it.
