Very poor turn-out of traders, not many classic vehicles..... :-( Has Warners made it too expensive for traders?

Unfortunately Warners has made it really expensive for everyone, and as seasoned marshals they gave us absolutely No information as to who was coming or when, we didn't even know who was and wasn't having EHU.

We were informed on Thursday morning that those who did not have EHU would be separated from those who did have EHU, so virtually negating the point of a club area.

We are hoping that this event does not reflect badly on the Retrofest team as the only part of the whole show organised by the Retrofest team was the dance floor and the bar in the Cedric ford pavilion.

Apart from Cassie and myself and a couple of Retro marshals, the vehicles were being parked up by Warners marshals and frankly I have never seen such a mess.

Just to clarify, Warners have nothing to do with the up and coming Retrofest Newbury in August.
This event was a one off, and it has been managed by Warners.

The only good thing this weekend was the weather
everything else was very disappointing poor turn out by traders.
black hanger sound system was appalling
due to acoustics in what is basically a shed
lots of vans leaving on Saturday plus more on Sunday
lots of people we spoke where disappointed
we thought it was going to be like Newbury with lots of car trucks and steam engines
probably my fault for not reading the non existent program
it was a fantastic event years ago at white Waltham airfield worth every penny
well done Warners we shall not return

That was the original Retro Festival which has now moved to Newbury.
It was great there mainly because it was much smaller. We still go to Newbury but preferred Waltham but as long as we can dance we are happy.

Very interesting reading this.
Sounds like Warners need to listen to some customer feedback. Personally I’ve enjoyed the Malvern Shows but this new show doesn’t appear to have gone down well . Also the new Camper Van camp out show from Warners didn’t get very good feedback either .

Hi Neil.

As I said above this was a one off show managed by Warners.
Paul ( Retrofestival ) was not going to run "Retrofestival Newark" this year, he was just going to run "Retrofestival Newbury" however Warners wanted to run an event here with Paul so that they could secure this event date at Newark showground for future events, ( more than lightly so that next year they can run the "Peterborough motorhome show" here )

The involvement of the Retrofest team was very limited in the running of this event, Black hanger stage, bar and a few key members of staff etc.
Warners supplied some of their own marshalls, and the result was that we had Motorhome Fun and RVOC members being spread all over the site, and as I said above I have never seen such a mess, big gaps, small gaps awning rooms overlapping.

Hopefully the people who know Retrofest events will know that this show is not how Retrofest events are run.
