Retired, single lady ready to buy a motorhome - help appreciated.

Hello and welcome ! Good luck with your search!:hiya2:

Margret...what is your budget? Autotrail 634 any good bed above and large lounge at the rear?

Kev

:ello: & welcome , there are lots of us as Joy @movan said (obviously the others don't look very hard;))

I think something like @irnbru s autotrail is pretty much what you've described?

good luck & hope you find what you're looking for:) & enjoy the forum!

:welcomesign:To the best place to be Margaret. Have a look at Autotrader Motorhomes on the internet, literally thousands of vans there which will give you an idea of what your budget will buy. Best piece of advice I can give is to not rush into it, research, research and more research and ask away on the forum here.
Have FUN. (y)

Hi Margaret, welcome to the fun house.

It may help others give more suitable advice if you can say if you need 4 travel seats, or just 2, what driving licence you have (ie pre 1997 or 1997 onwards), and any things that you really want and anything you don't.

'fleabay'.... 372492573076 634 at £25k but accepting offers.....Looks pretty.

Hi.gif
and a warm welcome from us.
Would a 6.7 metre MH be too long for you? And could your budget stretch to i.r.o. £24k? If so, then this might be of interest: -

If we were looking for another 'van we would buy it. Superb spec and owned and maintained by a mechanic for the last 12 years, so it should be in great condition.

Hello and welcome. Enjoy your search, it is part of the fun.

Margaret

Welcome from me also.

I have only just opened this thread and read through it.

What N&B did you and ex- have?

As to your specifications I have a few comments.

Your rear lounge one will limit you. My friend 'barryD' has been looking for one for ages. Rear lounge tends to be a British design feature following on from caravans, so most will be built to what, in my opinion, is inferior to what you have experienced.

If you have been used to N&B quality it will be hard to beat that at your budget - but not impossible. We have a N&B Arto 79GL which is 2003, and were we selling would be in your price range, but it has a garage and fixed rear bed. I think N&B never did a rear lounge.

You did not say whether you want RHD or LHD, or do not care. What about a garage?

As always and has been said - research, research, research. I did a lot of that for 2 years, while I was still working and ended up with our Arto which have had for nearly 10 years and are very happy with - some people swap every 2-4 years - takes a chunk out of £20K

Good hunting.

Regards, Geoff

Hi everyone, I'm unsure how to reply to individual replies, so apologies.
Indian Wisdom, whilst I am from Pembrokeshire I live in Hertfordshire currently though spend time in Pembs as well. There's no problem in going to Chester, and would love to meet up over Easter if it was ok with you.
I don't know if I will find a MH before then, but are there any events where I could meet up with you ladies and learn from your solo experiences? thanks Margare
